RPB3 SPOILERS Bismarck of India (regoarrarr, darrelljs, sooooo, sunrise089)

Draft for Rome, since it seems like Portugal is holding off and we don't want to be rude:

Quote:Rome,

We are happy that you have taken time to reflect on what's gone on in game and look at us in a more favorable light. We felt all along that given time you would find the truth. Your message has generated quite a bit of conversation as you might have imagined! At this point India does not see herself as a major factor in your candidacy for CAN membership, we don't feel we are in a position to speak for or against you given our history together. We will say that we continue to believe you could make a strong partner, and if things work out favorably we will be proud to fight alongside you one day.

PARTY ON!

Quote:Congratulations on your victory with Exploit. Or... Yaz. What a day the IT thread had yesterday! We will be finishing Maths EOT this turn. That is, we will be able to send Maths when we log in to T70. If you log in before us, feel free to request it from us. Just make sure to take a screenshot of Civstats, and one in game, and it would be helpful if you could have a notary public confirm the time that you send us an e-mail confirming that you asked us for it.

Do you think this war will see the total elimination of Sumeria? And perhaps more importantly, how much do you think capturing their city has hurt their alphabet dreams?

Until later,

Mr. Nice Guy for Team Nice Shot

I think we need to reply that we can't stop Alphabet. It is unfortunate but it looks like it is due in 2 turns and Sumeria has a Settler. The last might be a bluff but even if they don't they have enough Warriors to delay us 2 turns, right sunrise?

4 warriors is tough. IF we didn't have that Roman or Byzantine unit hanging around we could chance it, but we pretty much have to keep 2 chars in BP, right?

I see three options for taking out Yaz (if we want to do so)

1) Send in 3 chariots, pillage, hope he attacks out, and (if things become desperate) attack with single chariots hoping to not little damage and gain promos. Meanwhile switch all three cities to chariots and slave 3 more next turn, getting those into his land in ~5t

2) Send in 3 chariots, pillage, hope he attacks out, and (if things become desperate) attack with single chariots hoping to not little damage and gain promos. Finish granary builds, switch to horse archers as soon as we have the tech, slave 3, and hope he hasn't built many archers (once archers die warriors can be killed easily). This is the Ottoman strategy from RBP2.

3) Abandon BP and send all five chariots in.

Email to Portugal re: Rome's power

Quote:Okay - here's what I can figure out.

Rome's power is 48K.

4K population - pop 8 or 9 total
24K tech - 10K IW, 8K BW, 2K mining, 4K wheel
6K imporvements - 2 barracks
14K units - 4 warriors and 1 axe

I feel pretty good that this is pretty accurate

Portugal has to hit fast. One Praet counters 3 chariots.

Looking at our GNP graph, and comparing that with a few of the past graphs, it looks like since about T58, Exploit has been top GNP producer at about 49 GNP. We can subtract out 4ept and 2cpt, but also have to deal with 3gpt in costs, and figure 2cpt for a library as well. That means that he is pumping at about 44bpt, probably with 2 scis and a library in the capital. That makes sense - figure palace (8 ), free beaker (1), 2 3 commerce tiles (he's financial 9) and 2 scis (6) that's 21, and 5 beakers from the library, and another 5 from Bison Burgers (until this turn), that's 31, * 1.2 is 37. Plus at least 4 or 5 civs know Alpha, so I think that makes sense.

Alpha is 540 beakers, so figure about 13 turns, which jives with 2 turns from now (T71).

So I think that's fairly accurate from him. The real question is the settler.

EDIT - and sheesh I called him Exploit again, though in my defense, on T58 it WAS Exploit lol

So he is getting Alphabet and there is nothing we can do about it. I vote we make peace.

We also need to make peace with the Mayans.

Sent this peace offer to yaz

Quote:Hey Yaz,

We talked it over and since we didn't know that you already had a settler when we sent our initial email, we are willing to waive clause #5 of our email (the tech gifting including a no Hunting trade) in exchange for delivery of the settler next turn (T70) instead of in 10 turns. The rest of the clauses remain the same, and this is assuming that you are able to negotiate a suitable agreement with Portugal

If you want us to broker anything with Portugal let us know - we're happy to do what we can but if you've got it under control then that's fine.
