Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[SPOILERS!] Pericles of Babylon. Kyan, Twinkletoes, Whosit.

I see that Genesis is set for Settler next, but a mine is being built. Should we build something else first and grow into the mine? Hmm, probably not, that would probably not save time . . . . Not with our low food surplus.

What is the destination of the new Worker? Exodus still needs significant improvement: Mine that forested hill . . . we still don't have Masonry, right? Before we grow, probably switch the pigs to the riverside Cottage.

Leviticus? Just too much food for our happy cap right now . . . . And we don't want to overwhip it, either. I would get that nearby hill mined ASAP for some more hammers. Want that Library done soon so we can stagnate with specialists. For the time being, work Floodplain cottage rather than pigs. Make the switch this turn, if possible. Well, actually, I'll have to check how many turns of whip anger are left. If it's low, keep growing . . . .

We ALSO need to get a road connection out there. -_-; So much to do. Need more Workers. Need more Settlers. Need more everything.

Best road path: 1E Genesis, 2E Genesis, 3E Genesis, 1W Leviticus.
Alternative: 1E G, 2E G, 2W L, 1W L since we may be mining that hill for L, anyway.

Also, some obsolete signs. I'll take 'em down when I log in. I'll do that today, even! Yeah. Probably. rolleye

Oh, and when do we plan to turn research on?

I believe we will turn on research when we can research Currency at 100%.

Not totally sure though

Never fear! i am still here!

Hmm, let me look at the turn. Did it get reloaded again? I'm mildly confused because TT's pics seem a turn or two out of date?

I whipped Levi again shhh so library is complete. It can't be touched by whip for awhile though as it now has 17t of whip anger. devil

I've set the worker to road the cottaged floodplains. In terms of troop movements, it's not optimal BUT it will give us an instant 2commerce thru trade routes as it at least connects us via the river.

for Exodus- yeah we have masonry now, so let's get that marble sorted out. We should get monarchy around t80 or 81 if i recall correct so keep that in mind.

Ah, no wonder i was confused. Just played that turn for the THIRD time now lol.

Ok, Levi is size 2 but grows next turn. It has a complete granary and library. Ideally i want 2 scientists being worked in Levi as soon as feasibly possible. This city will become a BEAST later on.

Genesis- i swapped from the farm to the grassland hill bringing settler due date down to 7t.

2 workers have begun pre-roading towards Deutronomy (Gold site). we have an axeman there fogbusting and 2t already into the pasture on the cows. We need to get that city up and running as quick as possible. Probably going to be worthwhile chopping a granary out there.

Militarily- we aren't in a significantly strong position anymore BUT we have the ability to change that quickly and we are fairly safe for now. I would like at least 1 spearmen in exodus sooner rather than later and at least 2 more decent units for barb control which is going to become significantly worse as time goes on. But i would also like another settler (besides the one being built) and a couple more workers asap. Maybe we can chop them out at deutronomy after the granary?

Exodus might not be a bad bet to build those but that's our best military producing city. *shrug*

While the whip anger is wearing off, Leviticus would actually be a good city in which to build our extra Workers. If we work the Pigs and the Rice, we net 13 fpt (-4 consumed) and 1 hammer, so 10 hammers towards Workers and Settlers. That's 6 turn Workers and 10 turn Settlers. 2 Workers in 12 turns will eat up most of the whip Anger. Grow, build another, perhaps. That is what I would recommend.

Downside is that it isn't working the cottage during this period, but the extra workers should pay for that in the end.

That sounds good to me. My travel arrangements have changed slightly. I am unable to play from tomoro evening til monday. I'll try and play this turn AGAIN before i go (depending on when/if it gets reloaded etc)

Tomorrow. Got it.

Diplo: Wait 'till Kyan gets back!

Or slip me a bribe. Whatever. lol

Hopefully things will just stay nice and calm. It'd be just my luck if a diplomatic crisis breaks out while you're away, but I can probably avoid sinking the boat.

Kyan Wrote:Well, i'm aware you're probably right and i'm being silly. I was expecting 9 overflow.

3 surplus food
7 hammers from tiles
-1 hammer for worker = 9?

I've probably misunderstood how the food conversion would work. I.e. you can't overflow the hammers produced from food surplus?

another 9 hammers this turn + 20 from chop. I was expecting 38.

You know what. That difference is so small i'm going to stop being a pleb and whining about it. I would appreciate confirmation on where i'm going wrong though for learnings sake.

I decided to check this properly. Previous turn you did produce 3F extra + 7H => overflow 9H + 20H from the chop + 7H priduced that gives 36H as the city display reveals.

Haha thanks matey. Also, thanks Plako. Care to choose the name of another unit?

Whosit- there's some diplo late last night with Byz that's well worth reading. Key points are:

-They hate Mali and don't want to work with them if possible.
-They're cosying up with India
-They will NOT be attacking us.
-They would prefer we not trade with Egypt or England and do trade with old heracles members. This last point simply wont happen.

I've diffused the situation at least but also made them aware we will be trading on a civ by civ basis. The whole chat was sworn to secrecy so no telling other nations.

I'll take a look for sure.

Also, looks like sunrise's computer went poof, so for now, I guess no turns to worry about at all.
