Superdeath can trade me copper and horse and I presume he's hooked those up so his capital can access them, since I'm sure he has a barracks in the cap.
He doesn't have marble to trade.
Which makes me wonder - did he not get marble in his cap? Or did he move off a 3 hammer tile?
I can whip a terrace in FreshAir on turn 80 by working the hill when I grow (or, i suppose, a citizen). That gets me 15 hammers on turn 79 and I whip turn 80.
OR, I can put 1 hammer into an archer this turn and whip it next turn, at size 2.
That gives me 7 hammers of overflow into the terrace, which gets to 15 hammers on turn 79, and it grows to 2 again on... turn 80.
Yes, I can get an archer and terrace at exactly the same turn as I can get a terrace.
I lose some stored food, but I would lose it anyway if I whipped the archer after the terrace. Not that I expect Mr Cairo to attack me by sea anytime soon.
This has all my land, plus where I plan on settling.
Silver (in the upper right) I think is definitely mine. I'll fight mr cairo if he tries to settle it
Purple (in the jungle) is mine if I can settle it. I won't challenge Mr Cairo if he settles it, at least not right now.
What isn't shown easily is the island south of Ruff. That has clam and is a target for me at some point, but I need a galley, a workboat, a settler, an archer and probably a worker for chopping.
An interesting question is what to do about that fur. It's definitely Mr Cairo's, but I suspect it's food poor. I almost have to settle it if I run out of other spots, but I presume he will get to it eventually.
Strategic resources:
Copper
Horse (maybe x3)
Stone
Marble
One thing to note is that fish out in the ocean is not workable by any land. There isn't an island out there that I can't reach till astro or anything. At least, if you mouse over it, it doesn't show a yield.
Opponents:
- Superdeath moved one of his axes from the sugar to next to ruffs cap. That seems premature - I presume that Superdeath has Keshiks, but he hasn't been able to make more than 1, I don't think, unless he's a lot further on than I think he is.
- Lost Krill's graphs for this turn. Should have them back next turn.
Demos
This turn
- axe killed a barb warrior flawlessly. Now 3 xp. Almost unlocking the heroic epic!!
City Update
CarTalk - it says Great lighthouse in 6, but it's really 4, with one more chop and a turn of working a plain forest instead of a cottage. goes to barracks and a spear.
WaitWait - growing to the missionary. I think maybe the barracks and then a spear. I'm honestly unhappy with what I'm doing with WaitWait. I am pretty sure I need to think a lot about what I'm doing.
I can do pretty much anything with WaitWait - I just have to figure out what that is. I think it will take a few forest chops. the one SE of the city is definitely going away.
DeliciousDish - spear->settler. Will pop whip that at some point. Then an archer, I think and a catapult when I can. Needs a lighthouse, as well.
This is long term, a commerce city. Short term, it has to support military defense.
OnPoint - whip chariot fairly soon. Start building Moai. Will probably build some chariots as moai builds.
AllThings - continue to grow and build pyramids. Says 20 turns, more like 10 with growth and chops. After that, a barracks and catapults.
OnlyAGame - continue to build workboat, archer, lighthouse. Probably another workboat for the island. Not sure where the settler comes from - probably WaitWait.
FreshAir - whipped in an archer, growing back to size 2 where I'll whip the terrace. Have to figure out how to get a worker there. Might just wait till I know if there's iron there.
I'll need another workboat for the crab for silver. Need to spend some time figuring out when that city goes down.
Tech
4 turns to math. Then on to construction. After that, I'm not sure. I think Iron Working, though I want to get Poly and monotheism. I do need to get iron working to clear jungle for the rice in Purple.
Review of goals for turn 75:
Expand at least 3 more cities - Red, gold, Island - done!
Tech to AH, Masonry, Priesthood, Sailing, writing, hopefully part or most of math. Archery, depending on SD. Done! 4 turns to math, plus I have archery.
Get some fail gold from oracle. - failed miserably.
Get started on the great Lighthouse in Red. - nearly done, but in CarTalk. Instead, Allthings is cranking through pyramids
Get at least one barracks up and running - did not get done. Seemed not necessary. Might be getting there.
at least double my worker count. - done! it was 3 on turn 50, it's now 6. Still seems a little light.
get 2 luxes hooked up (gold and whale) - done!!
that's a pretty successful 25 turn bit.
Turn 100 goals
3-5 more cities - Purple, silver, blue, green, southern island. This is somewhat dependent on how long ruff holds out and how much of a threat superdeath is.
Finish 3 wonders - Lighthouse, Pyramids, Shrine.
Get at least part way through Moai in OnPoint.
At least 2 more workers, probably 3.
Have at least 4 catapults and 2 or 3 barracks.
Math, Construction, Iron working.
Enough strength to stay peaceful
Mainly, this set of turns is setting me up so that I'm not chum for superdeath. After pyramids, I might do a stint in police state to get the catapults out better. I don't expect to attack anyone for awhile yet - I don't know if that target is superdeath or mr cairo.
Is boring, really. Made a farm for WaitWait. Mr Cairo's power went up by a lot (probably an axe)
So I'm still 5th in power. But it's pretty much still Superdeath, then Krill, then Mr Cairo, GKC and me, then Ruff.
Doing some digging into this - I am guessing the Mr Cairo is 2nd in GNP, with 14 culture from wonders, 3 from totem poles, 2 from the palace and 1 from religion.
I can't really tell for sure, but I'd guess that I have the highest research rate at this point, even taking into account higher expenses.
One thing I can do when I plant purple is to give Ruff horses for enough turns for him to make a couple of chariots. that won't save him, but it will help him.
2 turns to math. 2 turns to Great Lighthouse. 8 turns to Pyramids.
How tight is my research? I was able to lose 2 commerce by moving a citizen from a cottage to a plains hill in CarTalk to get the lighthouse 1 turn earlier with no overflow. I can't lose another commerce though, without math going to 3 turns.
Made a spear and went back to 4th in soldiers. Lost Krill's graphs again.
Settler from DeliciousDish in 6, though a chop will come before then.
Question - do you need Animal Husbandry to make chariots? You need horse, but if, say, I trade horse to Ruff and he doesn't have AH, can he make chariots?
Hmm. Ruff has walls and, i presume, a barracks, so he can make 1 promo archers. Keshiks are immune to 1st strikes, but ruff will still have CG1 archers, on a hill, behind walls, with 25% forts.
I guess I'm thinking Superdeath is going to need at least 1 keshik per archer, plus all the axes. It's going to be awhile before he gets in.
I think I won't play games with giving Ruff horses. A couple of chariots isn't going to do a lot for Ruff - allow him to kill an axe or two, but keshik's will eventually kill him no matter what.
And Superdeath is volatile enough that he might just send a stack of keshik's at me in retaliation.
1 turn to GreatLighthouse. I am unsure how ties are handled, but I am guessing I get it next turn. This is a big deal for me, not quite as good as getting currency, but pretty damn good in any case.
I'm obviously tracking Superdeath's power. it went up another 5K, which I assume is another ger and a pop point.
Lost Mr Cairo's graphs now:
My espionage is on him and krill for now - I'll put it back on Superdeath soon.
This is interesting:
How can I trade with GeneralKilCavalry when I don't have open borders with Mr Cairo or Krill? I don't see how that's possible.
this is the south island. It looks like there's a peak there, so we'll see how good an island it is.
Plans for the purple ivory spot are a little complicated, because of how close superdeath is to the city.
I'll whip it next turn, then move the settler plus axe/spear so I can put all three on the ivory the turn after. Workers come in and road the desert that hooks it up and then will go and chop forests.
There's a chop in DeliciousDish which will get an archer which will join the axe/spear. There's also a chariot from OnPoint which will join the garrison. I expect those to sneak in so Mr Cairo can't see them.
