Well, that worked out poorly.  

Looks like I handed my civ over to MrCairo due to not really caring about the game.

to be more precise, he had a big ass stack behind deck which he used to hit my stack and do a lot of damage.   I tried to use my cats to do a lot of damage to his guy, but never could get odds on his top defenders, so I wasted a lot of catapults.   He's got a lot of weariness, I guess.

But I'll fall reasonably soon with no catapults.

Damn, i woulda tried to sub in for ya.

Well, to be fair, moving my stack next to Deck is what really hurt me. He had his units close enough to do something. And I'm pretty sure I've been hitting him hard with war weariness. I don't really understand why he hasn't been in full mobilization, though.

Also, what I meant is that if I had really, really cared, I would probably have simmed the attack out and realized that it was unlikely to be effective, so pulled back.

Jowy seems to have given up on trying to take out Charriu. which means he's either given up or he's going to roll me up. Which he can do, to a degree. He probably should.

Mr Cairo is coming for my cap... but I'm not sure he's got what it takes. He's got 8 seige and 26 hitters. I've got a castle and some 30+ units. I'll have to sim out what hte best defense is - I dunno that 5 or 6 cats can do enough damage to be worth it, but I also don't think his small set of seige is nearly enough to give enough collateral to really whack me.

it looks like he has enough that me hitting him doesn't make sense, but i think he'll bombard the city for a turn or two. he moves next to the city next turn.

Mr Cairo walked away.

That said, mjmd hit charriu with cavalry, so unless he does his "take a city ehn walk away" thing again, he'll probably win in the next 30 turns. Not that I'm very good at predicting when people are going to do anything.

Still can't believe I'm alive in this game. Cairo should have 20+ catapults in his stack. It's not THAT hard to get them.

Mjmd seems to FINALLY be putting his massive tech advantage to use, hitting charriu with cavalry. My guess is that he takes out Charriu in 5-10 turns, then kills Jowy or me and then pindi/OH and MrCairo concede.

I think I'm 0-10 or so in predictions this game, though

Jowy declared on Mjmd, which makes things interesting down there. Jowy has rifles, which beat cavalry head-to-head. Obviously, Mjmd has rifles, as well, though, since you need rifling to get cavalry.

I whipped a settler to replace the city MrCairo burned. Right now, I'm moving units around to allow some cities to grow - also, researching compass->optics to get a caravel for the circum gig + kill some triremes in mrcairo does not.

I'm not in contention, but apparently I'm not being killed just yet, so might as well do something I might outlast Charriu and Jowy, at this rate.

Founded Alphabet II. Trying to decide whether to try to take deck or not

Well, Mr Cairo has shown me a rifle, so I presume he'll have a stack and will come and kill me at some point.

if a sub comes in to play:

There are 3 cases:

1) Mr Cairo moved in a big stack
2) Mjmd or Jowy attacked me
3) None of those things happened.

3) is most likely. In that case:

Move triremes back to block Deck
Settle the city in the south in the jungle.
Farm the tile with 4 workers on it.
If there are any build queues open, build a catapult.
Move units near new city into it.

If MrCairo moved a big stack in
move units towards the cap.

If someone else attacked:

Don't settle the city, move the units that would go to that city towards the player who attacked.

Really, dont' stress. My civ is irrelevant - you cannot possibly damage the game or my position more than I have done so over the past 200 turns

so, Mr Cairo has a stack of about 60 units next to my cap. 3 rifles, 10 muskets, knights, etc. I'm not sure I'm scared. He has 5 trebs and 8 cats, which I think can either bombard or attack. If he bombards, I get another turn. If he attacks, I think his units will end up bouncing. I'll move some more defenders in, but I think he would have been better off with cannons instead of rifles - a couple bring the defenses way down, and the rest shred me without dying. or twice as many cats/trebs. I mean, I have 16 cats available and more coming.

I guess I'll hold in place. See what he does.
