Plemo, as the carrier bug is not resolved yet, I think it would be fine if you roll the turn and then set the fighters to intercept mission manually at the start of the next turn. Not sure if it would help but worth a shot I think. Mjmd, are you ok with that? I do not think it breaks the spirit of no double-moves rule in any way.

My best guess is that it isn't a "when the mission is set" bug. My best guess is that it is a bug due to carrier being IN a city. So I don't think that would actually matter. I'll also write a bit more in my thread. Point being I think we should wait before continuing at all.
I meant to test this both in mod and base last night but didn't have the time. (ie meant to test carrier intercept in and out).
I didn't know that either. So this only happens if the carrier is in a city?

That is the only time it has occurred this game, but neither of us I don't think* ( / remember) have tested against carriers in open seas. Again, I meant to test this last night, but did not get time; my apologies.
Thank you Mjmd for your observation. I had not noticed that at all. In fact, I think the carriers were always in a city. In the sandbox I was able to reproduce the bug and it really seems to be related to carriers in cities. As soon as I have the carriers outside a city, they stay on intercept mission after combat. The interesting thing is that the bug also occur when I load the save with classical BTS.
*corrected
Does this behaviour occur if you have more than 4/8 planes on intercept or already if you have a single carrier in a city?
I had the behavior with both single carrier and multiple carriers. I did some more testing and it seems that the behavior is not because of the carriers in the city, but because I sent the carriers on an intercept mission in groups. So in the end it is a user error.
Maybe someone can confirm these tests. Regardless, I will be starting the new round soon.
That could be the reason why I have so many problems to reproduce this. Yes, if you send them as a group on intercept, they will all end intercepting for example if one unit gets a promotion.

While it might be user error in the end, it's still new info for most of us, so have a thank you for sharing the experience. |
