I've been playing the game since it was released, exclusively by PBEM, with an ever dwindling number of opponents. It's been just me and one friend for several years now.

We generally play on Prince level, so Monarch will be an adjustment for me.

My join date for RB in 2021 was a quick look for MP, which didn't go anywhere. I heard MP in RB is similar to PBEM, in that it's basically a turn per day, not a marathon session online.

I know RB has a bit of a culture of no comments beside :5popcorn:, but I think If you ask a specific queston, you will get an answer.

You need a strategic ressource fast - should be 3rd research at the latest point and 2nd city, if not at the capital. - And most games have copper for all players near the capitel.

Specifically, the RB culture is for the lurkers to not ask any leading questions. If you ask about anything, you're likely to get an answer, but mechanics are easier to answer without spoilers than choices. Similarly, if you state your plans and they include something that doesn't work according to the mechanics, someone might point it out, but not if you're being vague about it.

It's been a while since I played Prince, but IIRC the main difference is slightly higher cost of cities, and a base happy cap of 4. There are no AIs, so those bonuses don't matter. (Can't remember if you're playing with barbs in this one, that matters slightly.)

Keep in mind that anything outside of the BFC is fair game to be changed. So in this case, don't count on the grassland sheep being there in the final version. It might be, I have no idea at this point.

I'm not sure how much you go, but Mjmd tries to have a dedlurker for every player at the first PB.
Dedlurker should only read your thread and are encouraged to give even more input instead of answering a few questions. So a bit less of a teammember.
After Mjmd wrote he's searching for you.
I voulunteered to fill the spot, if you want to have me and nobody else will.
I'm not really sure how qualified I am. I had a few games already, but nothing really successfull.
