I'm hoping that there is a window for macemen. I don't know if it makes sense on archipelago maps to go for early longbows or crossbows. Would that make it ideal to attack with knights, moving the knights off the boats for a turn before attacking? Wish I had more experience there.

The only tech someone has that we don't is Compass. With a second golden age being set up, we will have tech lead for a while.
Additionally we have decent domestic development options with organised religion and a couple filler city spots.

Knights are also more efficient on galley cargo space. Shame that mass whipping makes it obvious an attack is coming.

Why am I leading on score?
Did the other players get lazy with their optimisations?
Does Creative bloat score with border pops?
Did mathematics bulb into early currency work that well?
Is expansion phase featuring many workboats inherently easier to do properly than land-based?

I believe if you mouseover the scoreboard for each player, it shows the components of the score?

Creative does bloat score with border pops, but that would tell you exactly where you're ahead.

No, I mean our whips might expose things.
Just got a diplo offer from SD (lowest score) requesting 4 gold per turn to stop trading with scooter (highest score). Seems reasonable, so I paid up.

Has scooter expanded past 14 cities since the last time I checked?

16 to our 11+1. But we have 3 surprisingly decent uncontested spots to the north, plus maybe 2 more to the northeast.
