[Spoilers] The Golem Factory: Beeri Bawl of the Luchuirp

Quote:But what is the Tom- thing in the bottom right corner of that picture? Why it must be a unique terrain feature thing! Very probably the "Tomb of Sucellus":

Let's not jump to conclusions. Could just be some random guy called Tom. There is after all a precedent in fantasy for that happening.

Although yeah. I admit it's *probably* the Tomb of Sucellus.

Quote:That makes it pretty useless tbh. I mean a free life mana node is something I guess (it gives +1 health to all cities at least, plus together with my own palace mana it gives a free upgrade to life 1 for all adepts or whatever) but there are many better unique features.

Yeah. It's a mana node that can't be swapped to a different node, even with metamagic mana. I'd probably prefer to have a raw mana node, which we could convert to something we needed.

It's definitely no Guardian of Pristin pass though. So thats something.

Quote:Ends up in dye country, which is nice, but next to a giant spider, which is bad. It appears the name Donatello is cursed, and that I can probably start saying good bye to our brave explorer. And he does get killed by the spider when I hand over the save.

Ah Donatello... most suicidal of renaissance sculptors/dwarven scouts.

Will there be a Donatello 3: David's Revenge?
Reply

There will not! This cursed name shall be buried in the depths of Luchuirp history. Maybe in the future people will speak of the name in hushed voices, maybe songs will be written about the curse of Donatello. Only time will tell.

Clay started working on a mine, takes 2 turns to complete one, which is neat.

Also I realized that Ilios must have the ocean (or a lot of lakes) to his east, as I have a larger land % area than him in the victory screen, so he must've expanded his cultural borders to include ocean/lakes. Probably ocean I think.

Another turn, another warrior created. This one named Gian Lorenzo Bernini.

Production was started on a settler! 11 turns was the first estimate, but then Clay finished the mine it was building, and I started working that tile, making it 9 turns to complete. 5 turns left for masonry.

Awesome. I think we've got a strong possibility of being the first person with a second city thanks to our wonderful clay friend and his speedy tile improvements. Might even get it out before the vamps go all river of blood on us.

Hope so! We really need that city up asap, because the estimated turns for construction with our current tech rate is like 20-something turns, so getting those 5c cottons in our second city will really help us trim that down a lot.

I'm a bit surprised river of blood hasn't been used yet.

Me too. Any clues in the score? Could they be going for a really quick second city to get more population out of it? It's certainly odd play.

I haven't been keeping full score on the names, but if ye haven't yet, please name the next unit Auguste Rodin.

Got a mail from Uberfish

Uberfish Wrote:You probably noticed a large spike in the power ratings last turn - it's Calabim who gained ~15000 in one turn for some reason

Actually I hadn't noticed, so it was good that he told me :P I should pay more attention. If I had noticed I'd probably be whimpering in a corner, fearing that it was Mist who had built up an attacking force.

What I can't figure out however is what it is. The Calabim haven't gained any points, so it can't involve pop increase or a military tech. Which leaves a military unit/building, but I don't think any buildable units at this point give such a large soldier count. I'm thinking it could be some kind of event that gave them some type of unit? Does a great commander give soldier points? I should check that out maybe.

Hum.. If it came from a lair exploration there are some alarming possibilities. Some of the more deadly:

Elohim Monk with 10xp
Grigori Adventurer
Mage
Flesh Golem

Any one of those can serve as the anchor for a deadly early rush, which would upstage the Doviello quite severely! I'm not sure if any of them tally with the soldier point gain precisely though.
