Feels... dead here. Is everyone and their mother on vacation? Everyone super busy? Or is the forum slowly fading.. (i just dont see very many new posts)
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. ![[Image: noidea.gif]](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/noidea.gif) In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

I think the latter. No games really ongoing, not enough interest to start one.

Blame firaxis for Civ 7 being dead on arrival.

Yeah this is really a Civ7 issue I think. The forum got bursts of activity when Civ5 and Civ6 came out. We ran a day 1 Civ6 potluck and had 102 signups! Neither game caught on in a huge longterm way, but a lot of folks who swung by for those games stuck around for games that were more active here.

Probably a combination of forums being in decline in general, Civ7 fluffing its lines so hard, and people losing interest in older Civs
Maybe Endless Legend 2 in a couple months will bring some interest, although I don't know how MP-friendly EL is

Yeah no ongoing Civ games is the big one. People come to read and post on those, and happen to bounce into other threads as well.
Will that Civ 6 greens game get off the ground? How about one of the Civ 4 ideas Scooter was kicking around?

It's really... not. Haven't had my hands on 2 yet (didn't get into the tester group for this one). But Endless Legend and Space (1 and 2) are rife with connection problems. And even in SP their games are hardly stable. (I at least have lost a few dozen games halfway through a campaign due to unrecoverable bugs, but that might've also just been my machine, my GPU crapped out around the release of ES2...) Also simultaneous turns is arse, always has been always will be, and Amplitude games are built with it hardcoded. Even in SP you can "dodge" AI armies by spamclicking.
Also yeah, Civ 7 seems to have killed the community. r/civ is also just empty except for civ 6 (and even 4 and 5!) discussions. What a poorly handled release. Even Beyond Earth wasn't this much of a disaster. (And probably cost Firaxis a lot less)

I still have hope that VII will eventually become playable. They're taking baby steps in that direction. So many decent or solid ideas just undermined by the most baffling execution possible.

I hope so, as someone who'd very much like to play in it
And eventually maybe even civ 7 (Firaxis: Hotseat pls, I beg you!) , I think the game would be much better if you actually get some pushback. The current AI just can't, and I can't see a way to improve it, this game just has way to many plates spinning.

The issue with 7, apart from the obvious issues with the game itself, is the high price and the expectation of future content being released as DLC. I didn't buy the game yet, and don't plan to do so for at least a year, probably more
