Leader/Civ

Darius: Financial/Organized: Financial is great in a NTT game, and is always helpful. Organized on Noble? Half-cost courthouses and reduced city costs on NOBLE?!? Not as bad as protective, but...

Ah well, take what I can with it.

Ottomans: Janissaries are good, limited opening to use them, but they will have their use. Conquer a neighbor with them? Turtle up with them? An all-round good UU. Hammans are excellent, 2 health and 2 happiness is great. Early Math/Masonary, and HG would equal +4 health and +2 happiness in all cities with Hammans. Great stuff

Overall, a strong civ/leader choice, not the best, but that's the point isn't it?

Strategy is too tech to dominance with cottages, and try to crush a neighbor or 2 with superior military strength, around Janissaries.

Agri+Wheel

That's AMAZING for my general strategy ATM, with cottages, and not only that chariots are just one tech away.

Forgot what I said about in the top post, Ottomans are far better than they look.

Settler started on a 2-hammer plains hill, and settled there. There was a wet plain wheat just outside my capital's BFC, but I felt that the extra hammer in the starting location was just too good to pass up for a plain wheat. The only food resource in my capital is a grass pig, which with a couple farms I think is enough food.

Tech Plan is to go AH, Wheel, Pottery, Mining, BH.

Also, I started out with a Agri and Myst as my starting techs. I thought Ottomans started out with Agri and Wheel. My mistake or a just a mess-up? If a lurker would clarify, that would help!

First thoughts, go for an early religion if you haven't chosen to already! Using the Mysticism you have gained it would be a lovely thing to have a Financial-boosted Shrine! Hopefully further boosted by Bureaucracy later!

If possible, can I see some screenshots of starting position etc?
