Ok fellow leftovers, either of you have any experience at all with medieval starts, or multiplayer team games?

And Kuro, shame on you for making me start this thread, if we can win in game, we can at least try to win on post count!

Kuro let me join on as a ded lurker / backup turnplayer. Personally, I will be looking forward to the massacre followed up by Sullla telling us how we are all smoking weed with our moves in the afterparty/thread

Edit: As for experience, none with medieval starts and practically none with MP. Figured I had to start somewhere

Early thoughts on combos:

We want Financial, Creative, Expansive and Philosophical and its probably best for our 2 economic based team members to cover them.

Pacal of India may be almost a given

With that though we may then want to look for Pericles (Cre/Phi) of Korea (maybe) if someone is OK with a specialist economy.

Then we probably need a production/wonder/military guy so we could well be after someone like Stalin (Agg/Ind) or De Gaulle (Cha/Ind) of England or maybe of Japan if Samurais won't go out of date too quickly as they are pretty quality.

I am going to type up a LOOOOOOOONG hopefully post on my thoughts on early leader/civ picks. I will admit I would very much want you guys to kind of lean towards my pregame plans, but this is a team game, so discussion abounds.

Alright, so, Pindicator our dedlurker, Twinkles and I met on Tinychat for some discussion, we have some ideas on leader/civ choices...

Team 1:

Charlemagne of France
Gandhi of Russia/Spain
Pacal II of India

The general idea is to have two techers and a protector/attack dog/expander. Gandhi could run a specialist economy with Spiritualing to Caste, Pacal II runs Fast Workers and Financial and Charlie has Protective the whole game(Protective Musketeers deter even Rifles), plus Imp to help expand. Musketeers six moves on post-Engi roads means they can defend our presumably vast front.

We definately want more thoughts, though. Jkaen, lurkers, any opinions?

I think that, with the right leader/civs, solid play and maybe a bit of luck, we can win or at the least get second. So let's go for it!

Somewhat relatedly: The Aztecs could be a decent idea, because Sacrifical Altars are cheap and good, especially if paired with Organized.

Also, don't forget, Byzantine is banned, so no obvious idea there.
