[SPOILERS] Cromagnumpi's first foray into MP

Just thought I'd get this started.

There seems to have been a slight hiccup with the picks and Tholal and my first choices got swapped. So in his place I am playing as Einon Logos of the Elohim.

Save came in tonight and I've tried to open it on my home pc but I'm getting a runtime error. Hopefully when I get into the office tomorrow it will open and I can share screencaps as well as plans.

Thank you! I had noticed that the other day and told myself to make sure I kept that in mind...then I forgot.

"I thought I'd put Capria with the bannor in the top spot and have been trying to practise speeding to the altar but it's not really working out for me on Monarch. The AI just kicks my butt too hard with it's giant staks of multi-promoted units."

Looks like I'm Einon Logos of the Elohim. Actually this is one of my preferred Civs to play as though I think I trend more toward the female leader. Fingers crossed but the Philisophical trait should hopefully help with an Altar push. Homeland might end up being handy in dealing with the barbs, as I'm usually troop starved for most of the game: I try to run as high on the science slider as I can. We'll see if this is a mistake or not.

First turn: Popped a goody hut with a map (and the peasants rejoiced). Scouted one tile south with my warrior. Decided to found on the starting tile. Picked Agriculture for the corn in the area and I'll need it for education, which I'll likely beeline right away. Scout picked for production as I want to know the layout of my area and I usually lose all my scouts early game (friggen spiders and bears)

Screencap to come once I figure out how to add it. Any thoughts from lurkers?

Turn two was simply moving units, checking when borders will pop, blah blah. Nothing interesting for awhile. More screencaps that I'll post once I've learned how to do so.

Do you have a dropbox account?

I don't even know what that means but I'm going to check it out. DaveV suggested the same thing in the tech forum. Thanks again Squareleg.

Time for a slight update. Skyrim permitting, I'll try to get on top of this whole dropbox/photobucket thing so I can upload some of these screenshots I've taken. Not that there's a lot interesting happening.
Interesting note: if I toggle bare map on, and zoom out I can see any landmarks set. This means I actually know where the Sierra Madre is. Not so sure this was intended. I'm going to see if I can power some scouts over in that direction but I expect it's on another continent or protected by ... things. I wonder if Tholal picked the Elohim with the map landmark revealing feature in mind. I'd completely forgotten about it until I zoomed out.

Built a scout, which brings me up to two. Working on a Worker now. I decided to work the other tile with commerce on it. It means one extra turn but I think I'll be able to micro that back down again, I just want my bankroll at 10 gp and then I can run even on 100% science. I'm thinking I should have just kept it at 100 from the start. Live and learn.

Warrior is headed back to the capital Solace, just in case any barbs spawn from the goblin camp to my north. Hopefully I can farm from that spot later.

Looks like two of the civs jumped to 42 score. While I sit at 35 with the orcs and the Keelyn leader is still sitting at 31. I'm nowhere near ready to do any kind of C&D on scores like this but I bet the two leaders popped some tech or an extra unit and Keelyn is either building a worker from a 1 pop city or trying to build a building of some sort. Time will tell. Can't wait to read the spoiler threads when this game is done!

I do want to mention I'm a bit disappointed to have huts and dungeons included. I hoped we'd have all voted on turning those off but it seems not. I'm going to leave those for now and explore when I get more troops. If any experienced lurkers read this: do you know what, if any, modifiers there are for the dungeons? Like, are you more likely to get a positive benefit the earlier you explore; is there a better chance of something good if you explore with a scout/recon, like how the adventurers are supposed to get better results (or avoid bad ones)?

Dungeon exploration is based purely on the experience level of the unit (i.e., how many promotions it has), so adventurers are the worst possible units to use for exploration. See this thread for the mind-numbing details.

And an event fired, that would have nabbed me a Great Prophet ... if I had 50 gold. Should have been popping those lairs I guess. Looks like one of the players has jumped to a pretty high score advantage. At least it popped Agriculture one turn early for me, YAY!

Skyrim calls.
