It'll be a pleasure SL.

The plan I had in mind is simple - take advantage of the (crazy fast) EitB passive xp gain with Potency and bulbable sorcery to grab Death II mages ASAP and flood Erebus with Spectres.

Now, with all this wheat, Conquest powered PZ rush seems to be an option.

In either case I guess it's best to settle near the Wines and Gold ie. 1S of Gold.

The map is 40x40 all land - no water tiles, possibly no rivers either.

The map is wrapped around both axes. The SW wheat looks awesome, it might be a part of a contested middle grounds. Whoever controls it might become a monster just with Conquest and BW. I briefly considered moving SW but eventually sent the settler north because of the Gold&Wines. The settler revealed more commerce tiles:

The Dyes look nice. Gotta meditate if it wouldn't be better to hook them instead of the Gold.

There's exactly 1600 land tiles (mouseover the leader's name), which makes it exactly 40x40 with zero water.


I moved the settler north. This might be pushing the Sheaim luck - he might bump into someone's scout, but the spot is great:

The main reason for the site was that (after getting Agri that I belive is a priority for this map) connecting the Dyes will take only ~150 beakers vs ~300 for Gold.

The main reason against was obviously leaving the capital unguarded for several turns. bang

as a newbie to RB, what are the advantages of that site over the gold/silk/wines site?

Is it to try and maximize early commerce with a minimal input of teching?
