Hmm, we're still Khmer right? Looks like the default colour has been changed for us, either intentionally or not.

Yeah, you kept the Aztec color from the original WB file. I mean, blue is great, but who deserves it, Sury or Khmer?

I see Elkad's played the turn. Looks like we do indeed have Ivory nearby.

Scout 2NW, 2E, or 2SE?

I think SW for the warrior. Then he can head N-NE with the intention to be back in our city (or close) by T8 or so. Just in case of a warrior rush.
Scout.. Uh.. NE, then SE to clear the east side, then go long looking for neighbors (for known tech bonus)?

I think the same. It looks like our warrior is on some kind of a small peninsula. Let him scout it before returning to the capital for defence duty.

Every team starts with a scout and a warrior. I don't think any of teams will send a starting warrior away for scouting, having a scout. IMO we shouldn't be overparanoid here. Of course we should keep our warrior close but let him scout our surrondings a little before returning.

We need our scout to scout as much of our surroundings as we can before the settler pop up. We definitely want to know if there is some food in the ocean W of us, to not waste it by accident (like planting a city one tile short of it). IMO the next move for a scout should be on to the grass forested hill NW, NW. Our scout can go to the coast NW of the capital and from there he can scout with a big arc around our capital E, SE, S, SW, W.
That way we will have a detailed map of our surroundings, which is critical for spoting Horses (with Animal Husbandry) and Copper (with Bronze Working), and planing the second city location.
Our first techs will be (Animal Husbandry => Bronze Working) and I doubt anyone will discover them faster than us (for the known tech bonus ) We have plenty of time to meet our neighbours, and we can do that, just by waiting for their scouts as well

I'm at my step-parents place right now, and can't civ for a week and a half. Having nearby ivory gives a good indication that we will have nearby horses and copper too.
SW with the warrior sounds OK, and then NW and NE to map the east. Then head northeast to scout the north and stay close to the city. NE-SE with the scout seems like a good next move. Then we can send him to scout the area south of our city.
Known tech bonus is only 3% per civ - not enough to matter until we manage to hit at least 30 or so commerce.

I agree with your suggested moves. Do we know the number of total land tiles? In that case, we might be able to guess the distance between the capitals.
If it is large, we can also keep scouting with our warrior.

(For those who don't know, you can do this by mousing over your name on the scoreboard. The "Land" score will be 0/xxxx, where xxxx = number of land tiles on the map. )
Total number of tiles is 52x52 = 2704, so I'd expect the number of land tiles to be somewhere around 800-1500.
