Thanks Brick

I have 4th pick. My preference would be to get either a strong Fin leader or Sury. Probably the order of preference is
Huayna Capac (not getting this one 4th pick I think!)
Darius I
Suryavarman II
Victoria

For civ, think I want an Agri/Wheel civ. No specifics - with 8th pick on civ, will just have to see what's left. If I do get a Fin leader, I might go for early Pottery (after AH, before BW; AH first seems like the one and only option)

For reference, Agri/Wheel civs are
Babylon
Egypt
France
Ottomans
Sumeria

So, Sury. No Fin, but the only allowed leader with 2 tier 1 traits

Without Fin, Pottery is a slightly lower priority. Still important, because I want those cheap Granaries. But it's more than likely that I will research it after BW in this scenario - cheap Workers want to be able to chop Forests. If somehow I can get China, I will seriously consider going BW first, and chopping those Forests before improving the cows

Chances of getting China 8th pick are very low, of course. And pairing Mining with something other than Agri is counter-productive. My civ preference looks approximately like this

(*) Egypt
(*) China
France
Sumeria
Zulu
Byzantium
Ottomans
Babylon

Starred civs are the one I don't believe I can get 8th pick. If I get France, I'll be very happy anyway. Musketeers <3
Zulu and Byzantium are in contention because of powerful (overpowered?) UUs mostly. I would prefer to stick to the Agri/Wheel plan, but it's worth picking a civ with different techs, but powerful UU, over Ottomans and especially Babylon, which I think are rather mediocre civs

As a side note, if it was a 5 player PBEM, Mongolia would've been well in contention. Keshiks <3 too. But for a 12-player game, aggression with a HBR unit seems too early

Heh, are you still unspoiled for mack in PB13? I have a few posts you might want to read on the subject of UUs. tongue

Lol, yes, Mackoti took over the game while I was running around with the tail high in the air, but I'm still unspoiled in case he needs me to play turns
