What are your general thoughts on the changed traits in CTH?

FIN: is still strong trait from midgame but the trouble is to get there. The early power depends a lot on if there is suitable river, coast, resource tiles which might be hard to see from staring screenshot.
EXP: loses the faster start which is a significant nerf. With intensive micro planning and a decent happy cap, early granary and unnerfed slavery is still very strong.
CRE: retains the best parts of the trait which gives a very comfortable early game. The lack of any lasting power from it means I would want to pair it with some late game power from financial or organised.
CHA: Marginally better than before unless you can pair it with a unique building. Ethiopia comes to mind.
IMP: Best early hammer trait now with the nerf to exp bu still limited by upkeep cost. The stable bonus changes little for me.
AGG: Still gives no real eco bonus.
PHI: Better than before and some power traits are worse. Would be fun to play.
PRO: Still weak I think.

Anything you are interested in trying out?

Hmm.. depending on starting screenshot, id probably want to chose a civ first, and then steer back for the leader. Although this time around i kind of want CRE + something. Ill need to look over the revised changelog so i know what civs are fun and what civs have been unfairly nerfed into shit.

We are first to choose and there are many strong combinations:

1) Willem of China has a nice flow to him. Great techs and CRE goes into a great UU into a late game economic powerhouse. There are rivers, coast and a lot of forest to chop.

2) Mansa of India. Alternative way to get culture. Use the still great fast workers for chops into stonehenge/oracle. Slower out of the gate than Willem but better later on with the flexibility of spirtual.

3) Hannibal of Egypt. Do not see many happy and we want to cottage that flood plain ASAP. CHA helps with culture now as well.

Since you said choose CIV first I would argue that China is the best for this set up. Inca and India are also great even if they have been nerfed but they are not nearly as fun as Cho-Ko-Nu. With creatiive you might even get use out of the Pavillions =)

I had forgotten to read up on the changelog before saying Civ first. Im seeing plenty of civs id play, but there is a leader i think needs to be grabbed with our #1 pick.

Catherine.  Base BTS is horrible with how long you have to wait to get culture in most cities. Creative is a NEED ( at least for me ) compared to RTR where i can whip a AGG barracks in any city without a tech requirement.

IMP for the needed OOF to get off the ground running. Plus, i seem to get into wars quite often so why not have double speed GG's?

Idealy we would get a Civ that starts with Agriculture with a decent mid game UU. But we will have to just see what remains at the end. Im not a huge fan of China despite it having AMAZING starting techs. If it somehow makes it back around... i guess id grab it though.

Ideal would be China/Persia/ or any of the Agriculture/wheel combos. ( ottomans ect )

Hmm.. Just us and Charriu to go. China/Persia still look fun. France has one of the best UU's, and their UB isnt half bad if we make it there. Plus Agr/wheel is pretty banana's.

China has THE best starting techs though.. its UU is offensive collateral crossbows that can work off boats? Yum.. and its UB can go along with our CRE if we wanted to attempt a culture victory? Double yum.

Persia has pretty good starting techs, has a UU that breaks the norm ( fortifying mounted units ) Their UB is pretty.... bad. Its "better" than what it replaces but not worth picking Persia for.

IF china gets grabbed i make a motion that we claim FRANCE. Any thoughts?

China is still left so I say we take it without overthinking it too much. The techs are the best for our situation. Their UB has a small synergy in any culture war or cultural victory. But above all I think their UU will be great for us. It is on the road to knights. It is amazing on water. If we can bulb machinery we could do a scary timing push with them.

New question...

Moved the scout ( damn only 1 move.. ) But noticed a.... TON of floodplains. I think its worth moving 1W and settling to bring those floodplains into the capital. Thoughts?

We lose 1t of research/ect to gain 3 Floodplains cottages later on. Convince me to stay, or i shall move before everyone else is done playing. crazyeye

Player analysis:

1. Superdeath- Catherine / China
We are running the mother of all openings. Fast expansion with the goal of hitting Machinery before our neighbor(s) can react.

2. Charriu- Mao / Celts
Our boy Charriu wants nothing more than to expand, and maybe catch someone off guard with guerrilla units.

3. pindicator- Charlemagne / Carthage
Pindi will expand fast, and try and hit someone with Numids.

4. Mjmd- Victoria / India
Mjmd wants to play the long game (again?) so probably expands hard and either wins the game, or gets hit by someone like Pindi.

5. AutomatedTeller- Boudica / Maya
Holkans start with Woody1... Boudica of Maya is scary. c1w2 ( and more ) holkans and other units hitting someone.. Ooof, dont start near me please.

6. Jowy- Hannibal / Khmer
Wants to play the long game. I suspect he has learned since the last time i saw any of his gameplay ( PB2 Sulla's point of view )

7. Mr.Cairo- Tokugawa / Zulu
Interesting pick. Cant figure out how he is planning his Culture Victory here.. Capture someone else's religion/wonders?

8. GiraRober- Cyrus / Japan
Is this Naufragar trying to rush Samurai again? neenerneener In reality this doesnt seem to bad. CHA for easier whip cycles, IMP because IMP. And Japan has had its UB moved up? See how it goes.

Id rank the players loosely as such:

Winners-
Pindicator
Cairo
AutomatedTeller

Runner ups/kingmakers-
Jowy
Charriu
Superdeath

Food-

Mjmd
GiraRober
