The other really nice thing about the Sidar is their specialists are better...they get an extra something according to the type (e.g. an extra beaker for Scientists). I think Sandalphon's traits are just too lousy for words, its a real shame because its a fun civ to play around with otherwise.

I guess my other complaint is those level 6 units are pretty useful as, well, units. So its a bit of a tough sell sometimes to wane them. He really needs Spiritual or Arcane to get a passive way to lots of shades.

For me, the most fun way to play Sidar was OCC on Large Lakes with a lot of tundra, and raging barbarians. Tech up to Hunting and go for Divided Soul as your bread and butter unit. Go for Apprenticeship, an early Form of the Titan and Military Strategy (for the Command Post) - this should give you units with 6 XP -> two promotions straight out of the gate. Hunt barbarians and get lots of units to level 6.

Very fun game, even if quite micro-intensive for an OCC.

Okay, so I was thinking we might want to start a new FFH MP game. Here's what I'm thinking:

Always War
3 vs. 3 team game (at least one FFH as captain)
No special rules
Pitboss
24-HR timer with unlimited pauses (I go on vacation a lot)[INDENT](people are encouarged to end turn early to keep the pace up)[/INDENT]
Normal speed (no research penalty for teams will speed the tech pace up dramatically

The remainder of the settings T.B.D. by the players if this gets off the ground.

Any interest? Please only join if you are going to be able to stay committed .

Well... i'm interested, but i don't know whether my version of civ 4 can join, and i need to have a tutorial on how to join Pitboss games...

Joining pitboss games is trivial, don't worry about that. I think we wall want to be on patch "n" at least, and I am going to poke the guys at CFC to get them to release "o".

Much as I would like to try my hand at this, my work requires me to do a lot of travel at what is sometimes very short notice, and I have no reliable access to a computer that can run Civ for days on end. So alas, I shall relegate myself to commenting on the game(s).

I will volunteer to help with creating\reviewing this map, if it happens this month.

I'd join, but does it have to be a Pitboss game? Those PBEM games seem to go a lot smoother...

I like the idea of the 3x3, I suggest we randomize the teams.
