Unit gifting and city trading had been added to the usual already as they should be.

Unit Gifting was not in the list of the Usual in the spreadsheet, I have now added it.

We now have 5 (soon 6) games of CtH running. The traits haven't changed much except for minor changes to Protective and Aggressive from PB53 onward. I will soon (T100) be able to reveal more and interesting data from my tracking tool in PB54s lurker thread. But before that happens I want to take the chance and collect some unspoiled data from you players and lurkers of this mod. For this I provided this survey, which should be fairly quick to fill out:

@Mackoti I think most of the newer people who have signed up have been pretty good about posting if they have a ded lurker.

I think I got your point, but I am a terrible ded-lurker. Basically you have to do everything yourself, I come in your thread to mock you regardless and at some point - just because I had time and felt like it - I drop a great idea, half-baked and probably actually terrible. But in all seriousness: I'm fine with refraining from it, if someone feels this is unfair. I just wanted to talk with Noble in a game-thread again (well, for the first 25 turns before I get bored and leave him hanging).

I terrible ded lurker to a newer player is better than no ded lurker. This goes for anyone. If you don't want to commit to ded lurking a whole game, you could pull a Fin and ded lurk the first 50 turns. Most important turns of the game and help with keeping players on track and settling good cities. IE keeping them from being easy food. Then you can switch to general lurker and then you can go mock him.

@SD you can definitely take a day or two to get some map feedback before sending to us. I don't think anyone would mind a couple of other eyes on the map ahead of time.

Heh look Noble already has more ded lurkers than the rest of the game. Glad we had this talk. Really good feeling of fairness and helping others.

Well, I'm sure he is over the moon for my comments insulting his ability to play this game.
But also: Isn't this meant as a pastime to have some fun? I'm only back on this forum because Noble contacted me - not once but multiple times. I would not lurk anyone else this game, I would simply not be part of PB56. Will I give my thoughts on some of his choices? Yeah, sure - and sure as well, he does not need those thoughts to make good decisions. I'm not a thrice-crowned champion that somehow divulges his ancient secrets to the one next in line, I'm just a regular guy that is at best decent at Civ4. Maybe not even that after all these years.

So yeah, what I wanted to do is discuss, with someone I like and value, banter, probably tell some war-stories from times past. I don't mean to make your game unfun to everyone else or to help Noble run everyone over (which also is imo greatly devaluing how good you bunch play or overvaluing Nobles meager skills).

You destroyed the rest of us in that one early'ish PB where you played Sumeria 

Mjmd are you against Noble playing or not? If not, then leave em alone. Maybe you'll have a chance to take down the favorite in-game and this time you'll take it

As long as we are all aware there is a shark in the water unlike Plemo in PB51, I guess its fine, but it doesn't mean I have to like it. Would I rather older more experienced players help newer ones at least for the first 50 turns. 100%. I've been very critical in the past of Realms for not helping new players more. I've done separate forum posts, I've sent out multiple PMs for past games to get people WHO ARENT ME ded lurkers. Do I wish 3 very experienced players would help even this game up and help newer players out at least at the beginning. Yep. If they then want to go make fun of Noble later, sure. But again I get people want to hang out with their normal peeps and I kind of get wanting to just smash peoples faces in a game that people will put hours and hours into.....

Without being too PB52 spoiler, I don't think you had a good understanding of the situation to make that statement.

Edit: I think I'll leave off here and we can all go to complaining about the map whenever SD sends starting screenshots. All agree?

I have over 50 posts helping out players in PB54. And I have done that for many other games in the past, sometimes for players who are now vets. So I think I have done plenty to help the community. Oddly enough, I have no posts in your thread. I wonder why that is?
