Does that peace also include SleepingMoogle?

MWIN Wrote:still no updates. Why is timmy taking peace now?

Because he has shown his strength and can get a good peacedeal now. He has very little to gain by staying at war as he can't march into enemy lands while having a 3-side war. Neither scooter nor Bob would sign peace without a deal with the other party so timmy is far better off to sign peace, reclaim the razed city take the one Moogle captured and build on. Far better to have Peace and Bob fighting Sandover than having to fight Bob,Scooter and Moogle while sandover expands.

No only Scooter and Bob. Yes those 2 left Moogle out to dry

Surprised Timmy didn't want his city from Scooter back. Looked like quite a good commerce one.

Sandover Wrote:Turn 115 has Arrived

13 Crossbowmen
17 Catapults
1 Trebuchet
7 Knights
5 Horse Archers
4 War Chariots (1 GG medic)
4 Workers
(and a bunch of strugglers not yet present in the stack)

For home defense, Germany is known to field at least;

36 Catapults
4 Longbows
11 Archers
18 Spearmen
4 Axemen
1 Chariot
1 Warrior

Is it just me, or does this sound dangerous for Sandover? 36 catapults pack some punch. If TT manages to build some more longbows, he should have enough warm bodies to wipe out Sandover's stack.
I have to run.

That was kind of my thought too. I think people not used to fighting against humans (myself included) vastly underestimate the number of units it takes to make lasting gains against a committed human.

I think TT could get out of this having only lost 1 city - the one he abandons.

Having said that - he isn't going to be in much of a state to do anything afterwards - that is if he was in the first place...

Timmy, Bob and Scooter will all be very happy in 10 - 15t me thinks!

Just read all of TT's thread. Loved the number of updates. Still, I'm no pro but I was astonished at some of his micro moves. So many turns spent not working good food tiles in favour of production or commerce. I always thought that food turned into production through the whip far more effectively than working pure production tiles in favour of a food resource tile.

Also, if you look at this post:http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showpost....stcount=55

As well as many other posts he is continually while building workers working that riverside plains hill tile with 2h1c, while not working the silver tile, which is 1f1p2c. As I understand it both food and hammers = hammers for workers so working the silver tile would have produced the worker just as fast while giving an extra commerce for all those turns??? Seemed a little weedy, or perhaps my noobishness has me missing something obvious smoke

Anyways, hope TT reads this post afterward and perhaps learns from it. I know I learned a lot from reading the Speaker/Sullla thread in the PITBOSS and seeing how much emphasis they put on early food and how important the food stat was in the demographics screen. An early food lead always seems to lead a little later to dominance in production and commerce as well due to growth into more tiles and faster settler/worker spread.

Anyways, good game so far. Interesting map variant as well.

He's working the plains hill so that he can get up to 4 hammers and get 1 extra hammer for free from the expansive trait. Expansive gives 25% bonus while building workers, but only the pure hammers are counted and you need minimum 4 to get anything out of it.

Jowys right. Only thing is, he had a forested PH to work as well. That would have got him 7 hammers / turn, meaning a 6 turn worker. So he could have saved another turn on the worker for losing 6 commerce. Bringing for example the silver that 1 turn earlier on would give 1 hammer and I think 4 commerce more. I would say that would have been sufficient to offset the loss of 6 commerce, especially at that point in the game.

And more importantly, instead of researching Fishing he could have researched Agriculture, get the corn online and quickly reach higher pop-numbers.

From my point of view, he should have gotten that worker in 6 turns, in that time research agriculture and then farm the corn. Afterwards camp the deer for a food surplus of 7 and again more importantly get is highest yield tiles online for the soon to come settler build. Getting the silver mine afterwards would still have him at +6 food and then he could set up the PH and the GlH for the next worker builds (PH 4, GlH 3, Deer 2, Silver 2, City 1 would get him to 12 hammers, so 3 bonus hammers and +1 food = 16 hammers, 3 turn worker). Even the settler would then have only needed 5 turns (5x13 = 65).

Would have been a not to bad worker/settler pump then.

Ahhh, forgot about expansive there. Thanks for the clarification.

Just finished reading Sandover's thread and man I had to laugh at his diplomacy. I like his playstyle but his diplomacy borders on sociopathy in a funny kind of way. His set of emails to Bob about having to attack him where hilarious, especially where he did not understand why Bob was upset until Scooter spelled it out. Just wow. Still, having a player with a completely different viewpoint like that certainly makes the negotiations more life-like as in the real world different cultures see things so differently that its almost alien to some nations (middle east peace negotiations anyone?). Sandover's view's and idea's on friendship are world's apart from someone like Sullla as an example. Anyways. All adds to the fun of the diplomacy stuff.

Whatever happens it looks this is going to be fun. I suspect the rest of the map will figure out soon enough that dogpiling Sandover is something that is necessary and will be keen to see what happens then.
