2. is the worst option.
Either you take out Mist´s border city and dig in or you support him fully, get open borders explore the civ states and try to wrench control away from Seven together with Mist.
With America and England that weak I tend to vote for 1. Keep your gold for the Citystates, but you could gift him the odd unit and trade with him.

3. Attack Cherokee.
Injera, what do you think?
Hmm, we really need some more eyes down south. I'd say allying with Mist against Seven is probably strongest from the meta-game perspective unless you think you have enough land to out-build Seven once you can get your happiness up. You do have a ton of great land that's easily defensible, and it's possible Seven has reached the limits of his expansion. But I think it's more likely he'll be able to roll over the weakened yuri...
Now I really have no idea the best way to actually get aid to Mist. Direct military aid (either with gifts, or sending units down the eastern pass to show they're non-threatening) would be what I'd consider first.
This game is reminds me a lot of PBEM1; many of the positions are similar. I think it was soooo... who was in the same position Persia is now and assumed war with his neighbor was inevitable. Because of that he never cooperated to take down the central leader. It didn't work out.

I think the denouncement thread is an inherent contradiction. There's already been a ton of unconfirmed leaked information there and that is a form of diplomacy. Quite frankly I don't think you can have a banter thread that doesn't leak information if it's not a two-player game.

And I should add, before giving any aid to Mist we need to make sure he's actually engaged with Seven to some degree... that's why I like getting some units down south in a non-threatening way.

You have a really good point there.

So, after hearing you guys out, I've decided I'm going to opt to prop Mist up and wage a proxy war on SevenSpirits. I'm not going to fun him with gold, my pockets aren't deep at this point and I would rather buy up he city-states than leave it to Mist. However, I've decided to convey my neighborly intent through two other ways:
1. Gifting him units
2. Building a road between Cherokee and Thermopylae, to expedite said gifting.
So, here is the deal I offered him this turn:
I moved up Gaspar's Legion and my un-named rough terrain promoted archer on his borders. If he accepts, I move them in next turn and gift them to him:
He should be able to make use of the uber-cheap upgrade to turn Gaspar's Legion into a Mohawk Warrior, which should be helpful to him. I'll continue to send the occasional military unit his way, wherever I have production to spare.
My scout has found the end of Mist's territory in the west, and has spotted the borders of what I presume is Helsinki - the CS that started the war:
Three turns until the Oracle and Great Lighthouse are finished.

Actually, this is the archer I said I would name after you. I just forgot to do it when it got it's promotion. I like the name though When (If?) I gift it to Mist you should nag him to rename it that whenever he gets a chance.
NobleHelium Wrote:Uhm, what do the Oracle and the GLH do?
Oracle gives a free social policy, The Great Lighthouse gives +1 movement and +1 LOS on naval units. Next question, why am I building them?
Oracle - Cheap, I like building wonders, and the timing for finishing it works out perfectly with me unlocking my next social policy and researching education - such that I could rush the Porcelain Tower and Notre Dame almost as soon as they come available, and still have a policy available to unlock Legalism for the Temple Boost I've been planning around.
GLH - Uh....yeah.... I didn't have anything I needed to build in Gibraltar, so I decided to sink the production into another cheap wonder. It will also synergize nicely with Reformation down the line to have another city with a wonder for the bonus. That being said, still probably a move to build it. We'll see. Given how much water is around me, I expect the bonus will be useful. Is it worth the 123 hammers? I'm not sure.

One nice side effect of gifting units to Mist will be decreasing my expenses, which will be welcome at this point as I'm facing a bit of a gold crunch.
