Thanks for the patience. I think I figured out my problem - I was holding my sandbox upside-down.

Since Dazed is out of commision anyway I'll finish my turn tonight.

SSDs are still a relatively new technology. Reliability depends a lot on who made the SSD, and yours was part of the laptop, so eh.

Currently it looks like it was some kind of driver problem brought about by an automatic update. At any rate, it's up and running again, for the time being.

Two things:

I'm playing turns again using a jump drive from work and my old non-internet desktop I pulled out of storage. It will be slow, but it will work.

second, I accidently posted that update in the lurker thread! yikes I didn't read anything there but did see a comment from seven saying that "the bridge has been bloody" or something like that. Apologies!

I think your penalty should be renaming yourself in game for the next 5 turns. You may have noticed that I renamed myself on the most recent turn. You can think of something appropriate. I was thinking something along the lines of...

What's your computer situation, Dazed? Are you playing turns at home in the evenings and using internet at work to get them sent and received?

I can't play tonight if the save comes in late, as I have guests occupying the computer room.
