I got a PM from El Grillo that he logged in and moved a galley. I responded originally saying it was fine. Then I logged in just in case and I actually do need to know if it was the galley near Great Diamond that moved. I PMed him the question, but since I sent him two PMs he might not have been notified of the 2nd.
I don't need a reload, I just need to know if that was the galley. If it wasn't I'm in trouble lol.
Edit: he responded. It was that galley. I'm fine I think? Actual report to come.

I hope he didn't see elephant completed in Warcraft 3. One of the advantages of getting to go first is people shouldn't be looking around at start of turn. In any case probably shows that he is a little out of it as we literally spent a day determining turn order. To be fair he also usually plays pretty promptly when turn roles, so could have also been habit.
In any case the reason that galley matters it could have reinforcements on it. I'm assuming a whipped unit shows up next turn. Meaning he could have 8 units in there. There is also a 2nd trireme which I won't jinx myself on.
It also means I could load up my 2nd archer in Armored Core and do some pre chopping of the forest there for a granary.
You'll also note the 2 northern cities didn't whip their horse archers last turn. I wasn't on my game and evidently didn't do right math last turn. That means northern stack either goes in with 5 elephants, 2 cats, 1 HA, 2 axes, 2 spears T115. OR wait one more turn for +1 elephant +2 horse archer (they get their for turn of attack which would be T118). Now he actually hasn't started whipping those northern cities yet. There is a forest being chopped in far north, but other than that I haven't see desperate whipping of archers yet. I moved my hill spear down. I think I'm going in next turn, but will see. Edit: also can be a coward and just go after his northern city. Will look at power graph ect.
Power graph. You can look at my dismal other numbers in other threads. Something about low pop cities with very few developed cottages (and very few river tiles) and lack of libraries. IE I had my 2nd city razed.........
Mig seems to be crushing at 10 cities. Mind he has pyramids and probably cities above 5 pop lol. Have I mentioned how all in I am on this yet? I think I did at some point. Have a to make a move at some point. Even with Great Diamond I kind of wish I had gone after SD and just tried to defend afterwards vs El Grillo, but ah well.

Lost a 83%, 79%, and 60% odds fights. Luckily I had EXACTLY enough attackers to take Great Diamond with the archer on the galley lol. I wanted to go this turn, because next turn he could actually blockade Armored Core and keep my galleys contained. Would have had to unload this turn and then couldn't get any units off. Right now I'll probably just move the horse archers north and keep everything else there to heal (some of the elephants that won are pretty badly damaged)
Seeing that he had unloaded 2 more archers on the island I moved my spear onto the jungle up north. Still 2 archers in the city. More importantly he actually hasn't finished chopping the jungle! He built a road on it..... , but currently it has 2 chops left needed. Also means I don't need to whip Medieval and battlefield. Which is good because Battlefield 1942 has a gems and now iron I want it to work instead of whipping it. I also need a replacement settler from somewhere. Will either be from Medieval or Spore starting next turn and then whipped.

I wasn't going to report this turn. But I think its a good example of me not thinking enough, so lets reveal the onion layers. I think in the end I made the right decision, but was something I should have looked at.
El Grillo actually moved an archer out of Summer Triangle. In my brain I went ok, I'll land the horse archers in the northern most spot that will keep my galley from being killed. Then I'll 2 pop whip a HA in starcraft and hope I can take out Triangle by surprise. Sue for peace while I'm ahead and high in power. You'll note the lack of reinforcements heading up.......
WELL. I could have sacked the galley to land the 2 HA on the hill outside his city to take a peak. That one is low ground and all the archers at Great Diamond and big dipper had to come from some where right? I could then actually move my stack to the hill and go after that lowland city and raze it. I then maybe could keep Big Dipper instead of raze and resettle. The main problem with this of course if if he has literally anything there / coming I might not have enough to do both things and I would rather raze Big Dipper than raze whatever the other city is. Also, again would like to get peace while I can. Unless SD materializes an army from nowhere.
If he does reinforce Big Dipper I can also put those 2 horse archers in range if I want to wait a turn (bombard and get elephant+2 wounded HA in position). Does stink I have no promotions practically in that whole stack. But again it was whipped from the fairly new undeveloped north.

Last thought before bed. I should have landed the HA and sacked galley. It would have probably*** insured razing Big Dipper next turn and given me options. There is just no way he doesn't have an emergency whip archer ready in Triangle (which if I was second in turn order I wouldn't have to worry about, but blargh) Mind then the HA could die to reinforcing units (spears at some point right? RIGHT???)

SD sent me a message saying he will join in 6 turns..... Now mind I had sent him messaging he should be attacking this turn a while ago (before I really knew my own timings to be fair).
Based on culture Big Dipper was closer to his capital than I thought. Razed as it would be inundated in culture (which I could tell when I captured). Is there any way to look around outside of a city when you capture btw? Def didn't know the 3 stack was an archer and 2 workers and not an archer and 2 other military.
In any case razed big dipper. Lost some positive odd battles which hurts (they weren't insane odds, but still). With him only have 4 archers in I moved a spear SW pretty early in the battle and BINGO!!!! 1 new archer in Meteor Shower. The HA that died wasn't sent in because it had better odds, but rather that I wanted an additional elephant to attack Meteor. I did mess up and raze Big Dipper with an axe instead of a spear. Also, in my still noob multiplayer I had thought it safe to give combat promos to my spears (as I thought I would be playing more D vs you know the Khmer UU). Really wish I had left 1 open for city raider spear lol. Meteor shower should still fall barring a miracle. With only 1 reinforcement archer I should be fine even if for some reason the 5 units there don't get it done (non walled, non fortified, not on a hill as well). The question is keep or raze. Keep or raze. Keep or raze. I've already starred at the screen for 15 minutes trying to figure that out. I think raze. It is very isolated. El Grillo has to be whipping his empire atm. Plus I want my army back to go take the northern Triangle city. Again I don't have a lot of reinforcements inc, so going to have to pick my battles. Also, if SD is indeed coming in he won't be able to safely resettle for a while.
I had started some northern spears, which I'm regretting, but again I thought I would hit and then have to play D. Anyways letting them finish I guess to defend filler city while I go after Triangle.
Things are going better than I had thought they would even with the surprise granted by no score mod (I'm very much a convert to this should just always be how games are played). There is no way this attack works this well when El Grillo could see all my whips.
Also, I think I actually get to turn on tech for currency next turn!!!! Man do I have a lot of work to do. One step at a time.
I do have a very serious map complaint I believe in addition to the ones mentioned, but I'll soak in the good times atm and complain later.

Well SD sent this hilarious message not trusting the noob not to accept right away (mind you I would have been tempted for the lulz so prob wise).
I think I mentioned somewhere back that I sent him war messages (T106?). I sent him war with El Grillo and 10 gold from me. I then sent him El Grillo and 11 gold from him. Trying to signal that I was ok jumping in first. I then of course went in like 6 turns, but listen I hadn't fully done the math at the time. I also didn't send him updated timeline because I didn't think he would actually jump in with his 4 new cities and pathetic military.
@Old Harry Thanks!

El Grillo showing off that he is a million years ahead of me in military technology with his upgraded longbow. Will probably put a stop to whatever SD is up to as well, but ya never know. He moved the archer out, but had a new spear in Meteor Shower.
I was going to say I really regretted not leaving that city raider spear option open, but my 1st spear won its 32.6% battle so I guess makes up for losing 68% elephant fights (not really would rather have the elephants lost earlier). Razed as planned. To exposed and he is light years ahead in tech. I then forgot to move my 2nd spear onto his elephant to pillage it, sigh....... what i get for playing 1:30 am turns.

Going after Triangle next. Have a scout going over to see what SD is up to. With El Grillo having longbows I doubt this war goes beyond taking Triangle and peacing out. Then finally go eliminate the barb city!!!!
I should have turned on tech last turn, forgot about capture gold; ah well. I'm 7th in GNP!!!!! with 8 KTBs..........Cottages and libraries are already started. I'm unsure what I'm teching after currency. Either Metal Casting or Calendar. Great Scientist incoming will go to an academy as planned, so will wait on that to turn on tech again for sure. Will keep working 2 scientiists for some future golden age to actually get into civics ect. No point blowing a low pop golden age atm. Only way I get out of this hole is going long anyways and bureaucracy academy I think is the best way.
