More seriously, I am hoping Indiana wins just because it would be quite literally the craziest thing to ever happen to the sport. Fun fact: Indiana has been playing football since the 1800s. Prior to last season, how many 10-win seasons do you think they have had? Take your guess, then open:

The answer is 0.

They won 9 games just twice ever. They won 8 games just 6 times.

Ole Miss winning a title after their coach left for greener pastures would've been funnier, but Indiana's "we had the worst all-time record before we decided to become good" turnaround is a much better story.

Absolutely would have been extremely funny. I was at a point where I would have been pretty happy with any of the 4 semifinal teams winning. That glorious 24h where Ohio State, Alabama, and Georgia all lost was incredible.

It's hard to see Miami having much of a chance in the final. If I squint though, I suppose Indiana occasionally showed blips against elite DL, and Miami does have that. So if you're looking for a way they upset them, that's probably the path.

Everyone keeps using this argument (and I know you're not being entirely serious), but those are different things. It's quite possible that there are many SEC teams between the 4th and 12th best but none at 1-3.

I'm actually kinda rooting for Miami in the final just because the Indiana fellating is getting so tiring, but yeah it's a great story either way.

SEC underperformed in bowl games a lot.

Against non-SEC opponents:
In the CFP, the SEC went 1-3 against non-SEC opponents, and the only win was Tulane who was not a top-12 team.
Outside the CFP, the SEC went 1-4. UVA beat Missouri, Houston beat LSU, Illinois beat Tennessee, Iowa beat Vanderbilt. Texas did beat Michigan.

Yeah, I'm like 60% trolling, but this kind of thing was unironically cited for years when the SEC was winning.

But also yeah, it's not like that middle class won anything of consequence this year either.

And this is the real tragedy of Notre Dame not making it in, because we lost the chance of having the full Mount Rushmore of hated programs gunned done in 24h.

I'm just happy that after a year of being trolled by "40-6!" and being told of the glorious new dynasty, the Eagles won the exact same amount of playoff games as my Chiefs this year.

Notre Dame decided to take their ball and go home before losing.

After watching what happened to FSU in the Orange Bowl last year, who can blame them?
