( Spoilers ) The Holy Grail of Threads

Rather large update. Ill "try" and do mega updates like this every 20-25t or so. With the smaller updates containing my usual demos/city graphs.

Enjoy:

Marked on the map ( updated some after this screenshot.. ) everything i know off-hand. Including names of each Gavagai city and where his units are currently before he moves this turn.

We have the center area pretty well mapped out and Barb busted. We cannot be harmed by any barbs save for 1 tile. The jungle grassland 2N of the horses. Any barbs that spawn elsewhere should go for our neighbors. I think.. twirl

Demos are amazing as always.. If you notice at the bottom, we have our first rival open borders going on. Looks like TBW has an island city and is on the losing side of the deal with Gavagai. Interesting.

Libraries and Barracks. Soon there will be better things being built...

Cities, in detail-

Your Standard capital.

Future military pump? Maybe.

Future military pump? YEP!

This city may change from what you see here. Messed up a bit on warrior micro, and it might grow into unhappiness... Stay tuned.

Chop will come in next turn, and then the following turn we have a whipped library pushing culture into this area.

No idea what this city will do in the future other than probably work scientists?

An Amazing city, and once its borders pop we "should" be able to explore the land to the north west.. MORE ISLANDS!

Stealing the extra food from another city, and keeping tabs on Gavagai via the mountain vision. Workshops in the future? Cottages? Stay tuned!

Opponent analysis-

Raskol. Bismark of India.. on 4 cities with Stonehenge and Oracle. Has a VERY close TBW ( borders touching ) neighbor. Should be fearing for his life.. but wanted to push Cairo and myself into getting Monarchy instead of HBR...  Hope he gets expanding soon otherwise Cairo will take all of his land, and TBW should roll over him.

Cairo.. Trying to keep up with us in cities ( he has 6 ), close to alphabet. Passive as ever. He should be fine unless Rome descends on him while we have a NAP. Luckily for him, we are giving him HBR for his Alphabet. Wish we had trade routes with him so we could see what kind of resources he might have for trade.

TBW. 4 cities of pure aggression. Raskol as a neighbor with Gavagai pre-occupied with explosive Inca on his other side. Probably going to do ok, although i dont get how he hasnt ran over Raskol quite yet.

GKC/Stick of Rome. They do have iron hooked up, and a scary amount of power. Are they planning on hitting Cairo? Do praets take up THAT much power that they might only have like 2 units? Would be interested in knowing their plans as they are also at 4 cities.

Gavagai of 4 cities. Looks like he grabbed Alphabet and started the first tech trade of the game. Trading Alphabet to TBW for Math. I assume they have another deal lined up maybe with Gavagai? Cant wait to have Alphabet from Cairo so that we can figure out what everyone has.

For those not wanting to look thru all the spoilers-
[Image: v5uNexJ.jpg]
This should be filled up with techs soon.. So long as Cairo doesnt back out of our deal.
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. [Image: noidea.gif] In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

Tried to contact Raskol during the game... he WAS in the game ( i accidentally clicked him and he clicked me back... ) But he just wouldnt respond. Kinda weird.

Raskol and Gavagai now have 5 cities, making only Rome and TBW as the only remaining players that we have DOUBLE the cities of.

Sent the Alphabet-HBR trade to Cairo along with a PM. We either get Alphabet next turn, or Cairo logs in again and trades it over. nod

Raskol was wanting to tech to monarchy before math, so that explains some of that..

3rd in GNP without research turned on ( first when it is turned on ) Leading MFG by a good margin, but food is lagging considering the number of cities.. Maybe others have Lake fish(s) that are lighthoused?

Unless requested by OH ( or lurkers ) I think ill Limit this size of an update to every 5t or so. Demos/all city overviews/whats happening is probably what ill start doing. I deleted all my past images about 2 weeks ago for the screenshot folder and.... im already upto: 700+ screenshots. yikes

The food stat isn't that worrying - our four most recent cities are all small still and we've been whipping hard. I wonder though - do other players have more happiness than us?

I am concerned about our GNP - we have two arrow techs for Masonry and we're building research so we should be doing well there right now. Getting to Currency early is going to be a slog though, we don't have anything to help with the economy as the game goes on so we're going to need more land from a neighbour sooner rather than later (unless the islands are amazing).

On the tech front TBW got Myst (likely going for a late Buddhism) and Cairo got Archery (for Horse Archer fun). Posting the tech overview screen regularly will be handy to track that, but don't worry about the city overviews - I trust you to keep the micro tight (and we're getting near the point where micro plans become more trouble to create than they're worth anyway).

One problem with your report though - you didn't threaten any neighbours. Commissar

Only TBW has more happy. Just a couple silver. I see gold by Cairo so i assume he has more happy although we dont have trade routes yet.

Ive been threatening to hit Gavagai with Horse Archers for awhile now... soo neenerneener

Just doing another micro run and there are some things we need to think about.

Assuming we trade Maths by t81 Currency should finish by t86. We've got very little for our worker army to do at that point, so I think perhaps we should save cash on Iron Working instead of Aesthetics, then finish that after Currency so they can chop some jungle. Although Calendar for an extra happy from sugar would be great for our cities. And Construction to stop Gav coming calling/kill Gav with.

The Mids could be done t97 if we ignored everything else, but that hurts B so something like t105 is more reasonable. You could casually mention to other players that you're planning to finish it around t95 to discourage them from starting it or encourage them to finish it earlier to get the failgold earlier...

Finally what do we want the first great person for and when do we want them? We can get a scientist around t92 but I'm not sure there's a rush is there? Will we have any civics to change at that point?
