Also on a different note I think players are WAY too fast to suspect a runaway or predict the future in this particular game. This game has an absolutely glacial tech pace the likes of which I can’t remember matching - not even PB69. When that happens, there’s way more comeback and war potential to change things.

I get the reflex in many games, but I think this game is an outlier in that the tech pace is so poor that it’s harder than you’d think to snowball to an untouchable position.

Has anyone ever been at war with every single player in a game at least once? I think Superdeath only needs 2 more to complete his collection here. We need a term for this phenomenon.
Yeah, I had few of those games in Pbem era. I think you ned small games for this to happen.
I think I also had this in PBEM45g, there were 3 or 4 opponents remaining. I think that happens easily in smaller games when you have enough happiness not to care about WW and decide to cripple your next relevant opponent instead of finishing your existing wars.

This game might be even better example than most, but in general I've always found it a pity that people tend to concede instead of going for an unlikely comeback.
Yes, getting a dogpile happening is difficult, and yes, the runaway might finish the game off cleanly and you end up just spending 100 turns waiting for an opportunity that never really comes. And I can understand the optimization of your RL time, but I am sure we have missed many great showdowns over the years.

Since I know this is Superdeath's preferred method of communication, here you go.

I'm torn on the whole Commodore thing. SD did declare on Krill as Commodore asked. Sure SD didn't DO anything, but Commodore didn't know that when he then razed a city.
I'm not sure what SD thought was going to happen after he lost his army in Commodore land.......

If I was Yuri and actually wanted to live I would send a settler WAY southeast into the ice. Then if someone declared war settle a hidden ice city.

I tried something similar recently, kept me alive a little longer.

I think that may be the least amount of cottages I've seen outside of a self imposed variant. Brutal land.

Commodore has 10 Cottages. In Pitboss 69, Naufragar and I both actually had fewer Cottages than that (I know I had exactly 2) not because of a self-imposed variant but because our lands were Plainsy and Hilly and better suited to Farms and Windmills and Serfdom. So yes, brutal land.
And a shame about the hungry forum. .

FWIW I agree with Krill that this game is most likely decided, but it also seems that every player reporting likes building their sandcastles and wouldn't mind keeping on playing, so don't see any reason to foment anything here.
