I turned science back on to Monotheism. I'm hoping I can crunch the numbers to knock it out next turn, which would allow me to hopefully found Judaism in So Ugly, and convert to Organized Religion and Judaism, to speed up the Oracle.

Astute observers will notice I grew to unhappiness at So Fat and So Dumb at EOT. This should be resolved next turn when the fur camp is finished.

Still not sure what to Oracle. Leaning towards Code of Laws, though I could do Theology or possibly Feudalism? Probably not Feudalism though - I doubt I have time to tech Monarchy and Writing (even with 2 and 3 pre-reqs for them). What I'd really LIKE to Oracle is Currency, but Math is also probably out of my league, depending on how long I feel comfortable delaying it (which isn't that much)

Turn 50 played and we finally met Yuris125, and got a full set of contacts. I agreed to a NAP to Turn 75.

In other news Pindicator founded Buddhism this (last) turn so we may have ourselves an Oracle race.

So I signed an alliance with Pindicator. I think we're still figuring out the exact details, but here was my reasoning.

1) He agreed to not contest the Oracle. This will (hopefully) allow me to Oracle a better tech (Currency or Feudalism)

2) He's the Vikings, and I'm sure I can put Nav 1 galleys and Berserkers to better use against someone else. It will be nice, given our close proximity, to not have to worry about those.

3) He's been by far the most enjoyable player in this game - he's easy to chat with and often online

4) We've already been working together discussing our various C&D efforts, and it will be nice to have someone else to talk with about that as we continue. Playing last in the PBEM he sees all of the land point increases, which makes score tracking much easier as we move on.

5) I think there was something else but I forget and the save is now in so I'm going to go play it

Sounds good on the diplo front. And I assume we'll be more wary of dogpiles in this game...

Running HR/Vas would be really nice civics-wise (esp. since that means Combat I ships for better naval defenses), but I think Currency on a water map wins.

I doubt we'll be able to C&D anyone's capitals to see how they're doing on the Oracle?

Yeah we'll definitely want to be wary of news of our alliance leaking out, as that will lead to a 3v2. Still 3v2 is better than 3 v1.5....

You're right we can't do analysis on anyone's capitals. Still, Sian is apparently going for Pyramids, and Yuri told Pindicator he wasn't going for the Oracle. AFAICT, everyone is at least 2 techs (Myst/Poly and Priesthood) away from even being able to start
