There's a bunch of useless leaders so they aren't special anymore. What is special is the duo English/French leader (would just let you pick the civ you want) and Canada which hurts you so you would effectively get only two choices (ban them!)

I think we do draft but as with mapmaking maybe curated a bit.
So we only need a mapmaker (or to be more specific mapbalancer).
I can have a go at creating a balanced map.
The wackiness of PBEM23 is fun but probably not an experience to be repeated.

Ha, missed this. Pindicator, would you be interested in having me as a co-players or dedlurker?
Edit: on phone sorry for typo
I'll work on the map over the next few weeks. Did y'all have any especial requests?
Otherwise it'll be your basic Pangaea with no shenanigans beyond trying a basic balance pass.

Besides Pangaea, what world settings are you changing from standard? Map Size, World Age, Climate, Sea Level, etc?
Also, would anyone consider something like Lakes or Seven Seas? Still a lot of land, but naval play remains viable (though I think I can say that PBEM23 shows pangaea can create viable naval play, I feel like the map shape in that one is rather unique). I'd also like to propose the following city states to be removed: Geneva: I feel that the bonus to science while at peace is much too large for a fair game. While it can be countered by declaring war on the Suzerain, I feel like some players may not want to be forced into that decision. YMMV. Zanzibar: While I don't think that this CS is game-breaking, I think that the super luxuries it offers is much stronger than most other CS benefits. Though maybe that just comes down to how much a player is willing to invest to control it. |
