BTW a note on the players.
Cyneheard: Could be a threat since he won't have to worry about war, tactics and actually fighting. If we we were able to war I wouldn't fear him at all given how terrible he is with war strategy and tactics. Since this is Always Peace, I think he could do well and be a threat. Nakor: No worries here. Nakor does odd things often, and I never really agree with his micro. I also think his city placements are terrible and as such I'm not too worried about him. Scooter: I'm in every game Scooter is in. Can I say nemesis or something? In 14 he's basically benefited of the back of my existence. In the 2v2 he's on the opposite side. In diplomacy he's falling behind atm. And now here too. Before 14 got Serdoa'd (torpedoed), Scooter and I had the best starts. At that point it was a race between the two of us. I think it will be similar in this game. I'm actually REALLY looking forward to this game. I spent Pbem 6 and most of 14 mired in war. So far no war has broken out in 18, but I've still played more turns in PBEMs in war than out of war.

I was talking to Gaspar the other day and I was talking about this game and he says something like "You couldn't pay me to lurk that game." Yes, Always Peace, no wonder races. In this game its gonna come down to who plants cities the best, who micromanages best and who is most efficient with their workers. I think it'll be fun to play, but I agree it could be a chore to lurk. I will not give up however! I plan to keep this thread as updated as I do my other threads. Complete with pictures:
![]() Not a lot there. ![]() Also interesting: ![]() We're all the same leader and civ with the same start. Somebody moved to the SE and is working the riverside floodplain. I think this could be an effort to get a religion as well since we all have Myst to start and its very possible someone wants to make sure they get one to start. I thought about it. Ultimately, I felt that I could pick up a religion later. As long as I focus on expansion first, grab more land religion'll come.

A bit of an update:
I'm planning on getting two settlers by T32. This means I grow to pop 3 while building a second Quechua, switch to worker at pop 3 and work the mine+pforest+wheat for 13 hpt and finish a Worker naturally in 5 turns. During this I'm building a second mine. Then worker finishes and both workers move to forests. These both chop into a settler. Then I continue right away building a 2nd settler and one worker chops the last forest into the 2nd settler. Here's a bit of the land I've uncovered: ![]() First settler will go north with the worker that isn't chopping the last forest. The settler will settle on a grasshill next to a riverside rice. There are 4 forests in the first ring, and an additional 4 in the second ring. I haven't decided if its better to farm the rice first or chop into a worker as soon as the city is built. I'm leaning toward rice first, but chopping is only 3 turns. The second site will be the PH SE of the Gold. The city will work the oasis and grow. The worker that chops out the second settler will go with the settler and mine the gold so that I can get a bit of commerce to support these cities. Unfortunately I won't be able to work the gold until I've at least grown to pop 2 there. Maybe I should farm the floodplain first then mine the gold. Hmm I've just remembered about switching to Slavery. I guess I'll do that when the first settler is moving. That'll set my time table back a turn. I'm not 100% on the overflow from the worker into the settler and into the next settler because of the weird game mechanics. We'll see how that effects it all.

What weird game mechanics are you talking about? I don't think you'd hit the overflow cap.
