[SPOILERS - El Grillo PB54] Staying home and stargazing

Yeah it's a bit odd which fields are available to be put into views in that report. I'm guessing these commerce-yield-related ones are included because they're used in BTS to calculate the Top 5 Cities screen, but you don't get to see them decomposed like this. There shouldn't be an equivalent for ranking food per turn or production per turn.

EDIT: I agree that these should not be accessible.

EDIT: From Noble/Gaspar's PB55 thread, evidently there's a global production ranking field as well, and that one I have no plausible explanation for at all. You used to be able to sort of back into production tracking via the espionage screen mission formulas, but you wouldn't be able to separate out whips and chops and overflow, and you'd always be running a turn behind real-time.

Imagine how silly I feel that this came of me being confused as to why the default F1 screen didn't show religions, and then pressing all the buttons on the interface. twirl

(November 15th, 2020, 19:22)El Grillo Wrote: I took a look at Charriu's explanation of the inflation code and if I understand it correctly, the change to inflation means that the game will process inflation expenses as if I'm in a future turn rather than the current one, and the more techs I've researched at any given real turn number, the further in the future it thinks I am.

Also, inflation would've normally started around this time anyway in vanilla BTS, so there's no indication that I'm suffering additional expenses as a result of the change yet.

EDIT: The ones with the 'g'. For example, the ' Icon_Gold g' column is telling me that currently, my capital is ranked 5th in gold per turn at break-even. I can see this change in real time by adjusting my slider.

You are right about my inflation change and as Noble has hinted at, I will remove this game option in the future.

Also I'm very disappointed in the U of BUG, which stands for "unaltered gameplay". I will have a look at all those columns.

I'm glad my reporting was able to make an impact. Personally, I'm going to just pretend these views don't exist for the rest of this game and PB56.

Also, while I totally understand lurkers not wanting to say anything that would impact my in-game decisions, I do find it funny that these bugs are the things we get to talk about instead.

We need to talk about the bugs. Otherwise how should I know that I have to fix something

Well, I meant in the sense that I spent far more time thinking about and writing up all the other things, that no one is allowed to mention smile

For example, on reflection, I can't get Bureaucracy-powered overflow because I need to swap out of Slavery and into Bureaucracy at the same time, and upon further reflection it's hard to justify whipping away the capital's pop, even if I'm temporarily short good tiles for them to work. So I just swapped to Mausoleum and we'll see how much fail-gold we get :P

I'll dedlurk you for a future game Grillo. Of course Charriu is also on my list and then the game may have one or more of my friends in it and/or harassing me about it. wink

I will most likely look for a new PB to play after the holidays

Threw the GA, but if gira has a real unit on his exploring Galley and declares war he can choose to declare war, nuke a portion of his routes, and raze an undefended island city and deprive me of a luxury, so we're not celebrating yet. I don't read him as the type to do it, but you never know...

EDIT: Gira did not initiate hostilities, and Ruff offered a trade of ivory-for-ivory which I canceled and sent back. Now it just depends on what Mjmd and superdeath are planning, and when.

Sorry for the lacking reports, been feeling really out of it these past few days.

Sneaky sneaky Mjmd. Even without the tile bleeding through the fog, on hover you can see that the tile is freshwater. Funny thing is because I've denied Open Borders, the Worker-goto trick doesn't work, and BUG seems to take that into account, and so I can't see the progress on the fort. The fact that he chose that tile and not the stone mile means that I can just fortify a couple of Triremes there and put a stop to that. If he shows signs of speeding this up by bringing another Worker though, I might have to bite the bullet and revolt back into Slavery earlier than I'd like, leaving an ugly 150/200 scientist GPP in Milky Way. Beats having to actually fight for the city, of course, and it's really just a matter of deterrence because it's not long until PRO Longbows enter the scene.

Another more-than-welcome surprise. I wish I'd thought to explore this area by Pegasus Square earlier.

Abroad, vanrober took another city off of scooter. Can't wait for the Ruff counterattack!
