So that's the what the situation looks like now.
So we've effectively made sure Ilios will come out the winner, as Yuri needed to capture us with little losses to even think of challenging his empire. I don't think Dhal or Yuri could feasibly challenge him, and Whosit seems to be on the way out.

Yeah, I would try for an early astronomy - that's the only way we're going to make any progress against them.
And we've been bitterly fighting Yuri for a long while, with him both initiating and escalating the conflict. If we take him out of the running then in my books that's a victory, and I'm pretty sure Illios will take this on regardless of our actions- the only way Yuri could challenge him is a rapid conquest of us, which we need to stop.

Permission granted! Or the Commonwealth? I tried to do it myself but fell flailing at the technical hurdles.

Hey Hashoosh, how do you feel about your position in the game? Concession time, still having fun/vengeance, or what?

I wouldn't say it's up to me, but if the other players are fine with a concession then I don't want to be the only one wanting to play on.
Ultimately, whatever Gaz/q say goes for me.

I can't see the score board, but when I handed over I was 99% sure that Ilios had it in the bag, and if Yuri has dragged himself down attacking us then I would say its up to 99.5%. Unless Hashoosh is having a ball, I think concession is fine, as long as Dhalpir doesn't think he has a shot.

And I just saw that the game had been called! Thanks Hashoosh, you did excellently in keeping the CANZAC flag flying. Given that it was my first game, I am pretty proud with how it went. Fourth place for sure, but we did nothing to disgrace ourselves and we had a pretty nice sandbox humming along.
I guess the main lesson I learned was to be more decisive. I kind of knew that it would end in a duel with Yuri, but I didn't want to admit to that, so I ceded too much ground to him early on. Then I hovered between infrastructure and troops, and was very reactive.
I think decalring on Yuri before he could do it to us was a good move, even if we lost our trireme at low odds doing it. And I am happy with the attempt to burn his early city, with a bit more luck that could have made a difference. But in hindsight, I didn't leverage Sumer as well as I should have. I didn't even build courthouses until I had Code of LAws practically done, which made the ziggurat a bit pointless.
ALso, moving the capital may have been a mistake. It was a tough call.
GG Hashoosh. Now I will have more mental energy to follow along with you in PB18!
