If there is seafood north of this we have to orphan it in order to have a functional gold city. The whole island forces us to awkwardly settle north of the gold to have any food eliminating any chance at another city on the north side and Seafood there if there is seafood.
Got OB with Comm and Pin.
Going to keep headed west to see if we can get to Circumnav. Next turn WB out of Ragga will go Exploring Easterly.
We settled Muckspout but I forgot to take a picture.
Demos:
Not terrible. The top 3 powers are Comm, Civac and I think Gavagai.

Commodore's score is way too low. Not sure what's happening with him but something is definitely up.

I hope Thoth gets a 1-tile island with gold on it and no other land in range for his next game.

Add a fish resource two tiles away from the city and barbarian subs to maximize the suffering.

Tragicomically that’s not even legal.

We planted Wandougt (a weak, ineffectual man).
This island has to be one of the most frustrating and painful islands I've ever encounted. Sure looks great at first glance with the gold sheep and 3 fish around it. But in the end when you try to dot map it, you can only get 2 cities with food or 2 cities with food and 1 city with no food and a mission to work a zero food tile. So you make a choice about orphaning 2 fish (one of which we can get by settling on another island, specifically AGAIN settling on top of a luxury resource.
Welcome to Torture Island.
Okay we've got make a decision here:
Do we go for the furs? or do we go for an island with fish and not much else. Like we'll settle that eventually. But its not grabbing any great resources. We need more exploration for sure, but Maybe we just send the settler on the galley to the furs, pick up an archer off Muckspout and then start ferrying more units to these island.
I hate having a fully island empire because it gets so spread out and you need so many units to cover defense everywhere. I would have taken Commodore's, Civac's or Amica's wide open start with plenty of land to expand into any day. They all seem to have neighbors that are further away.
Demos:
We're at 11 cities which is 2nd behind Civac who's playing a blinder from what I can tell.
