Temple of Artemis fell to TheArchDuke
Is that 100% trade routes in just 1 city?
The Hanging Gardens fell to catwalk
I am building forges. I'm not sure why. THey look cool.
I've lost a handle on this game - 5 turns now without proper C&D. Ill try to catch up guys - no promises, but don't leave me, I'll stop the drinking.

Why would one build that ( other than the obvious)

its fairly cheap, esp with marble. and eventually if no one builds it you might as well =). plus the GP points.

I plan on doing a comprehensive update after current turn. Not much is going on. Catwalk up to 10 cities. I have 8, Azza has 9. I explored a bit towards Xenon with my WAR chariot and was surprised that he didnt grab the flood plains. - I could potentially get the better share of FP in both directions (toward superjm and toward Xenon).
I settled the spot that gets 6f pigs, 5f corn, and 5f wheat. it also has forests to chop.
Also I expect to squeeze the colossus in soon.

a lethal mix of werewolf + work undercut any uprising of updates
I'm debating whether i should go back in time and do proper C&D on all the turns I missed and grab a running update at the same time. I can't imagine how much time that will take - but if I don't do so, I just fall further behind.
Anyway - I've fallen behind in this game for unknown reasons. I think its small mistakes slowing down my growth curve. I am building 4 settlers at once now to try to catch up in expansion. I've found that the cities on the islands are net positive to income - so 3 are for that area. The other is headed to my south. I know from wheat counts that Azza and Catwalk are on the other 2 islands. Its funny - all three of us on the bottom of the map grabbed the islands first. Its odd since ArchDuke beat us to knowledge of the islands by at least 20 turns. He should be all over my island. Also SuperJM, with creative trait, should be on his island across from catwalk. Xenon and Azza are both non-creative and azza built a obelisk - so it makes sense he would claim his first.
Azza stole my marble, but on the turn he settled, I demanded it from him and he supplied it.
I put 24 hammers into the colossus and was pretty sure I would get it. but since it was 5 turns into my C&D shutdown, I didn't realize Catwalk had gotten MC. He fired off a golden age and now has oceans full of money bags.
I really should have teched currency before metalcasting - ESPECIALLY - if i wasnt going to get the wonder with it. I did have a turn recently with science on where i was #1 in GNP - so maybe im not completely dead yet.

ok - before this game gets going again, I wanted to do a report and try to get back in the regular reporting rhythm.
So where we left off, I razed catwalk's marble city. I also would have razed his Jewish holy city if not for the inconvenient "unit loses all MP upon disembarking" mechanic.
In any event, catwalk sued for peace, but had whipped out 4-6 settlers at that time as well. I wasnt able to keep up because I had just gotten over a round of whips for the defense of Candace. With a full C&D effort - perhaps I could have known that he was producing and whipping that round of settlers.
so the last 15 turns have just been me trying to catch up economically and keep up in expansion. Catwalk fired off a GA and Azza is teching at some ridiculous speed, so catching up isnt working. Keeping up has been difficult, but i just whipped out a round of 4 settlers and have 1 about to finish. 3 of these are going to complete the colonization of the island in between me and Sareln (who is taking over for TheArchDuke). As mentioned though, catwalk and azza have bases on their islands too.
In prep for the game picking up again, I caught up a little on C&D. All I did was map out the score changes and the city foundings. I didnt complete the cause of the score changes, the population numbers, the tech choices (GNP-based or score-based), the espionage hammers in the box, or much of anything else.

turn 84 (320 AD) state of the empire
Setting the tone for this report, I logged in to find the following:
Why did I just waste 4 worker turns cottaging a tile that is not in an BFC? Auuuuuuuugh. I was going to put a sign there and never did. Must remember to pillage it. I might settle on top of it at some point.
Also note the score - it is the intermediate players that have started to pull away. This might be good if the two of them see each other as main rivals.
Demos:
These demos are horrible. There was a point when i was in top 2 in GNP, Crop, Soldiers, Land area and Pop (points).
Top5 cities:
Between lending out my capitol's food tiles and a settler whip, I just cannot seem to keep up in pop growth with the other teams.
F8 screen:
I have a fair share of the land (#1), but not my share of population.
Capitol area:
What should I do with those grasslands? how about the riverside plains? Isabella needs the clam to grow at any speed, but I'd like to give it back to the capitol. Do I need to irrigate the grasslands?
Northwest area:
On t85, every workable tile except the incense in the northwest will be improved and worked.
Southeast:
With Poly complete this turn, I can build the parthenon. I've finally started to use a number of specialists, so I feel like I should be able to make use of that wonder. on t85, Poly will finish, 4 forests will be pre-chopped, the forge will finish. I could have started on the wonder 2 turns sooner, but I wanted the forge to give the 5 bonus hammers to each chop (the % boost from forge is only additive, right? or does it get multipled?) so when building parthenon, will i get 55 hammers per chop? 20*(100 marble + 50 IND + 25 forge)% or will i get 62? 25 (chop+forge) * (100 marble + 50 IND)% At 55
I only have 3 workers in the area, so I will have to 2t the parthenon. with 55 hammer chops, and 12 prod (growing this turn and working an engineer), I will only get to 198 hammers on t86. add the 4th chop and t87 production, i should be at 287. Parthenon costs 268, so some overflow for something.... could probably 1t a library if i wanted. If I don't work the engineer and instead use the 5-food corn, I would be at 192 at eot86 and 274 at eot87. I might do this instead - especially since the overflow hammers get de-multiplied (not divided) anyway. it would be a difference of 5-6 hammers for 10 food. Hmm... adding in the 6 beakers from running the engineer - maybe i should do that. Also note the settler in the desert tile under the UI - will found Baljeet this turn at that spot.
Western border with catwalk:
catwalk has 9 praets in view. I have 4 cats, 7 axes, and an archer in the theater. He could still do some major damages. I havent been building much military at all and my new wave of settlers are stretching me very thin. I *need* to start getting some units out, but im not sure what to build... some spears, some axes, some cats? Also note the settler getting ready to found Buford.
The island that Time (or TAD) forgot:
Note the graphic shows two settlers. They will head north to found on the warrior (Monty) and the spot 3N2W of Major Monogram, 1E of the clam (Vanessa). The boat is going to ferry a third settler for the spot 3E of MM (Charlene). Also note how the mirror is somewhat broken here. The floodplain on one side of the island is not riverside - the grassplain is instead. On the otherside, the floodplain is riverside, but the grass is not. weird.
South:
As noted, 2 new cities to be founded here.
So that is an overview of the empire. Next up: all 11 cities.

EoT 84 cities:
Phineas (founded T0):
The capitol! As mentioned above - it has lent out its clam and corn to Isabella and Perry at different times. With 2 scientists, a GP is 5 turns away, but the growth is slow. I'd like to instantly jump to size 11 here - work the farm, cottage, and mine and an engineer before stagnating. At size 12, i could grab the clam back and work a merchant at size 13. That is going to take forever and assumes I won't get impatient with something and whip.
Freb (founded T27):
One of my early mistakes - not wanting to waste an extra settler move, I pushed pretty far from my cap and settled the stone. Just finished a lighthouse so i can grow onto the ocean tiles after the incense and oasis are worked.
Perry (founded t31):
On t85, i switched the scientist to the rice to grow in 1, but will probably re-hire the scientist next turn. I made that cottage forever ago and havent had much chance to work it. I recognized the rice as a trap, so delayed it a long time - but also havent worked it much.
Candace (founded t50):
Kind of annoyed I am not working that fur, but 6 beakers from the scientist seemed worth it. after growth - i will work it and have 5 food bonus to grow to the next scientist.
Isabella (founded t60):
problem with this city is the lack of improved tiles. I guess I really need a lighthouse here. After the settler, I will go to lighthouse. I actually whipped the settler this turn in my first playback which was ruined by a worker misclick. I forgot this time, so i don;t have much overflow for the lighthouse I expect it will take 5 turns to lighthouse. Note I'm worker a citizen there for the 3 beakers + hammer.
Lawrence (founded t60):
Here you see I am working a citizen for some unknown reason - i should be grabbing that cottage from Ferb - i fixed this on t85. This city is the mirror of the next - i need lighthouses, but am building libraries for some reason. i think i will whip with overflow into a lighthouses on both.
Linda (founded t61):
actually - want to get maoi statues up here, right? one of the island cities might be good, but then i'd have to ferry everything back. Hmm... not sure.
Carl (founded T71):
3 loafs! needed to finish the forge - so on t85, i moved off of the corn onto the PF.
Major Monogram (t78):
another error - need to be working the cottage, not the other FP. Not much food here when you consider 4 cities will be sharing those tiles.
Baljeet (founded t84):
just founded - intially thought i should have been working the cottage in the NW, but that has only 2 food. Here's the big error though!! NO TRADE ROUTES. wtf. i guess i assumed it would be connected mysteriously. THis really sucks as it is would have been a break-even city with a trade connection. I'll have 1t into a road on the cottage - and given that i can't 1t the parthenon- I probably will finish that road next turn and delay the chop the was going to do by 1t. That still will leave 3t until the trade route is up - that means ..... 16 gold wasted by not roading first... argh!
Buford (founded t84):
I want to get those 2 mines up and start making stuff here. Not exactly sure on the order - but i have the cow finished ahead of growth. looks like i'll have to work the lake next before the workboat gets finished. Also contemplating putting a chop into a granary here before the workboat finishes - maybe chop the boat and overflow into granary and finish that slowly.
