Thank you for the kind words and silver linings, Nauf. A draw it is. I may also write a post-mortem over the next few days, as I read everyone's threads.

Although perhaps some more lurker map rerolling would be preferable this time around. CtH might make all leaders and civs viable but geographical determinism was alive as ever this game.
Yes, although maybe we can ask nice and have Chariu double events?
MJMD needs to be complimented on his map rolling, though, as the man with the weakest capital I still am very happy with the way it all shook out, thanks MJMD.

That should be doable. Would have to steal that game option from FFH. At the same time I think it would be interesting to have another change for these games:
Exclude all quests from randomly popping and instead trigger them for everybody, who fulfills the requirements.
This would make quests more fair to achieve for everybody and turn them into some kind of world wonders.

I am all for another game in the same format. And I also was fine with the map.
I generally think we should play with more rng. By far the most important random factor affecting the game is who are the neighbors you roll. And this is not something you can in any way balance pre-game. Other random factors only serve to smooth out the effect of this one and if you try to eliminate them, it would only serve to make the quality of neighbors more decisive.
For that reason, I think the maps should only be balanced for the most game-breaking stuff, like having strategic resources in the vicinity.

I'd love this.

If interest is high enough for Quests-for-everybody, then I could look into this and start a small discussion to fix some of the quests.

Not sure how good it is that every quest is available in every game, but once a quest does become available it should do so for every player.

Triggering the quests at random, but for everybody is harder/near impossible. The quests are actually events and those always trigger for every player individually.

I probably rerolled the map more than I should have honestly for a random game. I limited myself to 10 and then chose the one with best overall look and start balance. I liked that this one connected east west which a lot of them didn't. I've noted changes I would have made if allowed in lurker thread.

Thanks Commodore. You (randomly) had the player start and I'm not sure if that affects start strength. I REALLY wanted to give you a fish instead of a clam. Most of the lurkers were rooting for you and you'll find extensive discussion between Krill and I for your start.

That's an interesting thing to check for future games.
