Just an FYI, I might be able to pick up a turnset or two over the next week, but on June 12 I'm heading off on a new job that's going to keep me from playing any civ here.

Just saw your announcement in the PBEM thread, do you want to play a set now and get at least some game time in?

Link is https://1drv.ms/u/s!AvHkz1T7blQV1H9naelfTEimLmxc (as originally posted by the author). IIRC this is a patch to v12 - you need to install v12, then copy the modified assets into place. I can't remember whether folders are complete replacements or whether you should just update the files. I'll try and update the main Mod thread so that it's easier to find!

Okay, I#m playing some turns now. Please anklebite the shit out of everything I do..... gotta learn.
Turn 34 - start Turn 36 - complete first farm. Realise that Agrarianism can be adopted. Adopt Agrarianism Turn 41 - Lizardman attacks fortified warrior in city, didn't raze the farm it was standing on. phew Turn 42 - city grows to 5 and 3rd warrior is trained. Consider options then start on 4th warrior. Turn 43 - accept the "great bard but you get +5 unhappiness" out of morbid curiousity - city dies back to 1 pop and I reload. Could swear there was a mod where settled GPs give +1 GPP, also where GAs give +1 Happy, might have made it worth it.... for meme value. Turn 43 - begin researching Mining Turn 47 - fourth warrior on the field, beginning work on settler. Maybe it should have been worker instead of the warrior.... ah well, 24 turns of worker to catch up before new settler is trained. Turn 49 - the Goblin Encampment starts sending out raiders Turn 50 - realise I have hogged too many turns, but don't want to hand someone a save where they are pressing End Turn 16 times to complete a settler. Greedily, inconsiderately, and selfishly keep playing. Turn 56 - receive a Great Prophet from Amathon. Time to save and exit so someone else gets to decide what to do with him. IMO settling is stronger option, Luonnotar Altar construction is sexier. Forgot to post screenshot, but dear reader, you can visualise a skeleton roving from the East staring across the river at our four warriors.
Sorry about the lack of reply - I got distracted over the (UK) holiday weekend.
Not a lot to say: - I feel that switching to Agrarianism once had a farm or two online was almost certainly the right call - Lizardmen can't pillage (nor can any "recon" unit IIRC, so Hunters etc.) - I think we need the four warriors, we don't want to be caught with just one guarding a settler, so happy to see them. - I notice you've met some of the neighbours: Luichirp are probably harmless, Svartalfar not so much - Unless we actually want to push for an Altar victory (I guess I've assumed Conquest / Domination as it's what we always do), I'd be tempted to save the GPro for a shrine and try to pick up a useful religion, but having him on the bench for many turns feels awkward Who's next?

I pinged Ginger on discord but he said he is busy. So after seeing your comment I pinged DaveV and Amicalola too

Sorry for the lack of reply over the weekend, I was up home with no Civ access and bad internet. I'll take a look later myself but from your quick report and shallow thought's follow up it looks like a good report. The great bard event is a bit of a female dog when it happens in your capital and only city, it kills off too much pop. In a just established third city, on the other hand... In terms of early GP I would either settle him or bulb him towards a religion. The few times I've gone for the altar victory, it's always been after I get a religion of my own. Oh and on that point, if we want to found a religion we should pick one right about now and build specifically to it. On emperor the early religions go too quick and the religious based civs will still beeline to the later ones. Update on order 1) Me 2) Shallow Thought 3) Bing Xi Liao 4) ??? People left to play: Mr. Cairo if they haven't been swallowed up by the new job Dave V Ginger(), who looks to be next up Amicalola.
