I think I found where city #2 is going Also, the huts have rather wonderful so far. The last two I picked up gave me 30g and Mining.

Or does City #2 go north? Two bonus tiles but lots more tundra: I used to hate these starts because they were so awkward with growth and getting the first units out: I could build a warrior and get halfway into the next by the time we grow to size 2, and then start a settler at size 2 which completes end of t30. But here I can go settler first for the 5 turns, and then the turn before the worker finishes the Pig Pasture we start the warrior up. Warrior will finish eot22, same as growth to 2. Then back to the settler, and the settler finishes end of t29. BW finishes end of t27, so maybe city #2 goes where the copper is

This isn't the first time I've come across this pattern: where the first resource takes a while to hook up and do you're stuck using a 2f tile for a while, so long that the first warrior finishes before you can grow to 2. What I've found is that it saves you in the long run to put a few turns into a settler while waiting for the first food to be improved so you spend less turns growing from 1 to 2, and that will give you more turns to put hammers into the settler. If I went warrior next then it would take me 8 turns to grow. But if I put 5 turns into a settler first while waiting for the pasture to finish then switch to a warrior to grow to 2, then finish the settler it saves a turn on the settler overall

Animal Husbandry is done. Two horses in sight, neither in a great spot: My scout is scoping out the green stuff in the south, but is quickly being bogged down in hills and jungle, so I'm not optimistic about finding anything worth settling down there.

Krill has no room to complain about the map any more, as far as I'm concerned ![]() He's also met another person, like to his west. As for me, many thanks to Mjmd for covering while I was out trying to keep up with my brother on his birthday. He swapped us over to a warrior for growth, timed perfectly for the turn before the pig pasture was done. That gives us 2+5+5+5+5 for fastest growth to size 2, also timed for the warrior completing. Now we're moving south to pasture the sheep and will swap back to finish the settler at size 2. We'll have 7 turns to get the warrior where it needs to go to cover the settler, so I'm going to have to make a decision pretty soon about where city 2 goes.
