Tidy up time to start

Research set to New Fighter Craft
Dismantled Small and Large radars at Eurocom to save on maintenance costs & free space.
Sold corpses, navigations, alien entertainments etc for funds & space.

Started developing ASIACOM and USACOM as manned bases - building second hangar & general stores in each.
Neither base has any weaponary or ammo for its interceptors although ASIACOM has two plasma beams en-route.
Transfer 30 Elerium to ASIACOM for reloading plasma beams.

When current manufacturing of 2 more plasma beams completes, I'll transfer those to USACOM with another 30 Elerium to USACOM. That will leave us with 54 Elerium at EUROCOM - obviously we need more soon.
Ordered 2 more recruits and 16 more engineers at Eurocom taking us to 25 soldiers / 50 engineers / 100 scientists.

Transferred Captain DaveV & a little equipment to USACOM to start building small team there as we already know he will have low PSI strength. Two new recruits purchased there directly.
All ranked soldiers have flying suits or powered armour, rookies all have personal armour.

Manufactured 2 stun bombs so small launcher usable for possible sectoid leader capture then set to more medikits for other bases.

Finally after a few days we spot an alien craft in Asia and launch Interceptor 4 after it.

Plasma beams don't actually use ammo.

As the chase crosses the Urals towards Europe, Eurocom launches Interceptor 2 towards the UFO. However it evades and leads them both a merry chase over the UK and into the Atlantic. The pilot of Interceptor 2 closes to battle over water so XCOM mission control asks him to pull back & shadow it. Interceptor 4 does the same.
Interceptor 4 finally brings the UFO to combat around 1000km south of Moscow and takes it down with a burst from its plasma beams.

Lucky me - the first muton ground action cry Glad we packed the heavy plasmas.

Before the Skyranger can reach the crash site, our end of month performance review takes place

The Skyranger takes an indirect path to the crash site, delaying until daylight arrives. Meanwhile another UFO appears over Africa

EuroCOM launches Interceptor 1 at it
Our Skyranger pilot maintains the wondeful record of the service by yet again landing us in a hot zone right by the UFO

Fire&Ice moves forward onto the ramp, immediately attracting reaction fire from the NE. One shot glances off his armour, making him flinch but otherwise does no harm.
He spots the muton which stands out nicely in the cornfield.

He jumps off the ramp, spins round and shoots it twice, killing it. The last shot it gets off as it falls smacks into the ramp in front of Fire&Ice's visor.
Amelia jumps off to the right of the ramp and spots a muton to the SE, facing away. Her two shots miss though. Ichabod follows Amelia and spots another muton to the south east.

Pocketbeetle fires at the eastern most muton and kills it
Ichabod, Meiz and Brian Shanahan fire at the other muton, with Brian hitting its back but its armoured skin deflects the plasma.

(Hidden)
The muton turns and shoots Brian in the head, killing him. It then calmly turns and walks away.

Amelia and Pocketbeetle both advance firing at the muton but fail to hit it.
Meiz pops up from his crouch and fires more wild shots at it.
After watching the previous eleven shots being fired at the muton without no apparent effect, Sergeant Sullla sighs and takes his turn. His heavy plasma bolt smashes straight into its chest- but it still stands there.
Captain Dazed and Sergeant ManbehindMask fly out of the Skyranger and also try their hand, missing further shots.

(Hidden) the muton looks bored and walks further away into the building south of the Skyranger.

Ichabod moves to re-aquire the target but spots another muton to the east. His shots fail to connect.
Sullla takes over, shooting the muton twice in the chest and bringing it down.
Zakalwe, Fire&Ice, Ug and Kronoz move up the UFO preparing for entry.

(Hidden) Another muton appears to the SE and vapourises a section of wall by Ichabod. Pocketbeetle reacts well and kills the alien with his return shot.

Everyone is keen to avenge Brian and finally nail his killer. Meiz takes direct action by blowing away the building wall and spots it waiting in ambush by the doorway.

He hits it and mutters a quick prayer when its reaction shot misses him (& everyone else). Amelia follows up with two more hits and finally kills it jive
Sareln and Regoarraarr join the group by the UFO entrance.

(Hidden) Nothing moves

As the nearest rookie, Kronoz has the honour of being first through the UFO door.

His burst kills the nearest muton but an unseen one shoots him down.
Sareln hits the further one four times with plasma pistol and kills it.
Ug lobs a smoke grenade into the UFO entrance to provide cover.

Hidden - smoke fills the UFO and area outside. An alien appears in the building to the south & shoots at Meiz but only takes out part of the wall. Pocketbeetle, Amelia and Dazed kill it in a barrage of reaction fire.
The 'unseen' muton in the UFO pops out from behind the pilots chair and shoots Sareln but his new 'Flying Suit' is well armoured and absorbs the impact. He and Zakalwe return fire but only wound the alien who ducks into cover again.

Ug jumps into the UFO doorway, fires off a burst from his plasma pistol and ducks out again. Two shot hits the muton . Sareln fires another burst to finish it off.

Mission complete including some much needed Elerium.

We go straight to Interception screen after leaving mission. The second UFO is shot down and left waiting for next player up (Uberfish?) - Skyranger is still returning and will need to refuel, re-equip and re-rookie

Not much luck with the RNG on shooting at the one muton. At least 4 aimed shots in the 15 or so fired at it & all missed - it took 5 heavy plasma hits to put it down. Thats why I don't like mutons

At least I kept up my record of killing at least two rookies a mission lol

For some reason I'd convinced myself they did - probably getting mixed up with another game. Can always transfer the Elerium back at minimal cost.
