[spoiler] Azza Tries To Survive Longer Than 40 Turns

t32:

Turned tech slider up.

Moved both workers to complete the road. Moved to both sheep and wheat tiles to do so.

1t Holkan was in the queue in the capitol.

weird score increases this turn:

Brick +27
Sian Cat +21
Slowcheetah +11
TheMusicMan +6
Azza +0 (although we whipped)

Cant say much of anything about this... other than there was nothing the game log.
That put Brick at 150, the rest of us at 130 or 129.

Our demos are quite bad. 4th of 5th in most categories.

Thanks for the subbing waterbat.

Looks like Brick and SianCat got some points for 20 turns of owning tiles.

Not too worried about the demos yet, plenty of time to turn them round.

Forgot to report, but played this turn last night.

uh oh! Sian settled towards us and picked up his horses.

I pasted in the top section based on our warrior's travels over similar terrain. Also our scout that is out searching is being shadowed by cheetah's warrior to the south.

So.. city count:
Sian: 3
MusicMan: 3
Brick: 2
Cheetah: 2
Azza: 2

This caused me to debate going directly for a settler in the capitol, but after doing some napkin math, decided it would still be better to grow to size 3 first. Also, given that Sian will have horsepower soon, I queued up another Holcomb.

I am not familiar enough to know when exactly we can double-pop whip again. In 4 turns, the whip-anger will go away, we will be at pop 3. After putting 1-2 turns into the settler, could we double-whip then? It seemed like we should be able to - so I went this route. Even if we had to wait until pop4, this wouldnt be that long off as there is a FP tile to work as well as the clams.

At EoT: The great Copper Road is complete! I figured I would next improve the 2 resources next (wheat+sheep) as the workers are standing on those tiles.

hmm, I'm scaling down screenshots in Civ4 from 1900x1200 - it doesnt seem like this preserves the smaller text well enough. Perhaps its time to start playing in a 1024x768 window mode and taking screenshots from there. Or maybe keep the images at full 1900x1200 and just put them in spoiler tags? What do you think is more preferred?

If the text isn't important to the screenshot, scaling down is fine. If the text is important, spoilering would be easier I reckon.

Exploring warrior is trying to trigger circumnavigation, since it's nice to have. Another little thing I noticed is that SianCat's gold hill is chopped, so they've definitely settled up there. I don't think whipping out the next settler is necessary, we aren't in any settling races and don't have a granary in the capital yet so it'll take a while to regrow.

Future plans, I'm tossing up between going Meditation -> Priesthood -> Writing or Writing -> Mathematics. Buddhism hasn't been founded yet, and we have a guaranteed prophet, plus the Oracle would be nice if we can get it. But it's a pretty risky path to go. Thoughts?

not sure Azza.

If buddhism is still up for grabs, it seems possible to do. What would be the tech you are trying to Oracle? MC?

If you can still expand while pushing that strategy, I say go for it - you can still fall back on the expansion you've done.

I'm not spoiled on the other teams, otherwise, I might be able to answer confidently smile

MC seems ideal if we can snag it for the quick Forges thanks to Industrious. I think Turunga Leela will be able to pump out settlers/workers for us, but I'd probably look at picking a 3rd city with a production focus as well if going down that path, and then worrying about commerce, probably converting Philip J. Fry into a commerce city.

Ok, I think I'll accumulate gold for 2 turns, and if no one takes Buddhism I'll go Meditation -> Priesthood.

We're also the most powerful civ, which is nice.

Just got vision on slowcheetah's graphs, confirming that MusicMan founded Hinduism. I'm the only civ with only 2 cities at this stage, so I've got some catching up to do.

Buddhism has been founded by Brick, so research back up to 100% going for Writing. If SianCat don't move their worker, away from my warrior on their border, I might just have to steal it.

And somehow, I have a trade route with slowcheetah.
