I understand the frustration, but the best way is to not answer at all.
They have obviously signed their NAP with CFC already. No point in telling them that this was bad. In 10 turns they will see the error of their ways.

I am not sure why I am still rooting for RB anymore....With the way we treated allies in this game we deserve to loose...

We do expect to survive long enough to repay them, right?

I don't care about that. We'll happily spend their money as long as we can and try to get to Rifling in time for it to matter. If we continue to get carved up, I don't care at all about repaying their money. Sometimes when you make an investment you lose your money. And if anyone ever promises you a return of 150% on your investment...ever heard of Bernie Madoff? Sometimes you get what you get.

I'd love for us to be able to survive this dogpile in a condition where we can pay them back but it doesn't look likely. Paying back their money is the least of our trouble, what are they going to do, declare war on us?

Don't lose faith, I'm a jerk and probably not representative of the majority population on this forum. We don't deserve to lose this game because of how we've treated allies, though. WPC got what they had coming because they're terrible players and didn't listen to our advice. Who else have we mistreated, really? That we probably won't be able to repay this gigantic loan can't really be held against us, can it? When the bank is foreclosing on your house are you going to be able to pay all your other bills? I don't think so. You'll pay only the ones you have to. They've made a bad investment, it happens. It was a great deal for them, if we were able to pay them back it would have been an economic golden age, I can't fault them for wanting to try it. But they knew there were risks. I think my point was sound, even if I was an ass in the way I made it.

Run the GP to UCiv via WPC. I think that would only be fair if we died.

WPC? I dunno, I think if we humored them we would be in a better situation. I think we could have probably stopped our part of the German war sooner, let the Germans beat up WPC until WPC gave us cities to stop them. It would have allowed us to recover slightly faster, possibly prevented the dogpile to this scale, and made us look like the the Nice Guys at the cost of wading through more longbows and elephants. But that's with the benefit of hindsight so I won't say that we made the right wrong move because we could still be in a crap position either way.

WPC? I dunno, I think if we humored them we would be in a better situation. I think we could have probably stopped our part of the German war sooner, let the Germans beat up WPC until WPC gave us cities to stop them. It would have allowed us to recover slightly faster, possibly prevented the dogpile to this scale, and made us look like the the Nice Guys at the cost of wading through more longbows and elephants. But that's with the benefit of hindsight so I won't say that we made the right wrong move because we could still be in a crap position either way.

Nope. No news. I requested gold from them in game. Scooter followed up with an email, I think.

Oh give me a break MWIN. UCiv knows that there is risk in this investment - that if we die before we've paid them back then that's life. When we get rifling we'll shut off research and pay them back as fast as possible exactly like we've agreed. But that will take a long time because our finances are horrible - much worse than UCiv's. And it could theoretically just take so long that we die before it's all paid back and if that happens, I don't care. So please spare us your high and mighty routine.

It's posts like yours there that completely kill my interest.

And I agree with MH we might as well just ignore the ridiculous CivFr message for now. But if things do progress to a point where things are a little more hopeless than they are now, I'll probably speak my mind.
