[PB63 Spoilers] Fabled, Amicalola, and JR4 are woven into the pattern

Turn 8

Another terse report, unfortunately. Nothing huge is happening, we're continuing to scout and follow the micro plan. I'm starting to get nervous about going so long without dedlurker feedback, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

NE we saw a lake, not the ocean. Not sure what that changes yet, but there it is.

To the south, we found corn by the gold. This is looking like a great city spot for a 2nd or 3rd city.

Once again, some demographics.

Interesting. Well, Boudica of Egypt is kind of scary as we need to be wary of both an attack by War Chariots and by Swords. I don't think we should settle the Corn/Gold area just yet as we need to find our Copper first. If we can get in a real unit there, I'm all for trying to expand SW. Cornflakes probably went Mining - Bronze Working and there is a nonzero chance that he goes for instant aggression.

Yikes, that is not the neighbour you want to see. Settling copper with our 2nd city is probably a good idea. Certainly settling south should not happen before copper. Having 3 workers out early might be important if we need to settle southwards FOR copper.

We need AH for it to work, but settling the plains hill 1N of cows is a SICK city, could aim for it to be number three post-copper. That works well with our timing on AH too, if we go for early granaries. Lots to think about!

Still enjoying and thinking about the reports, just away for the weekend. Will have more thoughts (and 4pop Sim) in a couple of days. smile

Edit: the plains hill 1W of gold looks like a great city too, so we have options. Where copper turns up will be huge.

I played the double. Moved our scout in this direction, ending up on bananas. It is saltwater ocean to the south, and more saltwater ocean in the fog to the scout's north. Looks like the continent we're on might be quite snaky. I didn't bother scouting the two unrevealed tiles, since there's a decent chance that they're resourceless. The tragedy would be if copper is on the forested tile, but that's pretty unlikely. Right? scared

Started the worker in Caemlyn and improved the fish.

We need Copper like yesterday. I expect at least another neighbour to show up (perhaps W?) but our main concern short term is definitely going to be Cornflakes. We could use some eyes down S, just to get advanced warning if he goes for early aggression.

Turn 11

Agreed on both counts. We're 9 turns out from a warrior, according to Amicalola's micro plan, and we can post that south to keep tabs on Cornflakes.

Okay, the W looks pretty barren compared to the land elsewhere. Maybe that`s backlines after all? Our Scout will get good vision by going to one of the hills next turn.

It looks like the players have gotten pretty similar starts as there isn`t really any outliers in the demos so far.

Turn 13

More scouting, nothing to note. The scout is coming back to fill in the blanks to the west and then look for trouble from Cornflakes.

It's also worth noting that all of Cornflake's EPs are put into us, so there's probably not anyone south of them.

It`s hardly surprising that Cornflakes has put his EPs into us. If we meet another neighbour we could consider stopping at 43 EPs at Cornflakes as a sign of goodwill (which would still allow us to see graphs) as long as he does the same.

I agree with circling back as we need to find out if there is any strong food resources in the fog just W of Caemlyn. This looks like a really good map so far but honestly I`d prefer a few more tiles to the closest neighbour or some sort of a chokepoint but that comes down to playstyle more than anything else.
