The next policy came in. I had quite a puzzle on choosing what to pick next, and I'm still not sure if I picked right. But I went with the Liberty opener. There's so much space to fill with cities, that especially Meritocracy and Representation will become handy. Representation gets me a golden age as well. I'll also get the free GP finisher if the game goes that far. The other options just didn't feel that good. My next free policy comes in 5 turns, when I advance to medieval era.
Barbs pillaged my wines and put me to unhappiness temporarily. I've just realized that unhappiness actually reduces the golden age counter... So close, but yet so far away

Taking Liberty was IMO the best option you had. At least it is +1 culture for every city.
Any plans for Chichen Itza? Although as some have taken Lib instead of tradition they might have a GE ready to rush it.

I will most likely try, since it's very OP wonder on quick speed. But like you said, either Jkaen or Jowy will probably use their GE to snatch it.

Hanging gardens is ours (Now I just need to get the happiness going to actually benefit from it ). That problem is being worked by building two circuses, plus the work boat that will be used for the whales. Our culture will grab the deer tile in couple of turns, and I'll probably need to use money to get the whales.
I also settled my fourth city, so the next objective is to get the necessary libraries going for NC. In the meantime, I can start my gambit for the Chichen Itza in 3 turns.

Jowy managed to meet me this turn, and suggested to trade his spare cotton for my only copper. That's almost an insult . I do have secondary copper coming under my culture in 5 turns, so we can get back to the negotiations table then
No one except Azza is exactly rolling in money.
I'd have the possibility to send two cargo ships to Rome, but don't really have the resources to build them yet. If only my capital was on coast...

Looks good so far. Hopefully Rome has enough to do so that he doesn't settle between Wroclaw and the rest.

Is it? That's positive sum overall, you break even on happiness and he comes out ahead. I do that with AIs all the time.

What is the positive for Meiz? He loses copper but gains cotton so he is just the same as before while Jowy gains 4 happiness?
(where he Netherlands then it would make sense to trade).

I haven't even checked what resources my cities want. But just for +1 diplomacy modifier with Jowy, it's not worth it Or something else I'm missing?
Jowy really wants to accept embassies with me, which I've now declined couple of times. I see no benefit for that yet and that would just give him the visibility of the wonders I'm trying to build. Mainly chichen itza atm.
