Ahh - I had promoted that chariot to C1. Catwalk took the 50/50 shot and lost, and moved his units back where I couldn't get at them. I think catwalk may be done soon - sticks and bricks power is spiking, as is kjn's, and catwalks is falling. Mine is 3rd, but I'll add in more units next turn. Course, war chariots aren't as scary as axemen...

A stack of war chariot could take at least one of his cities. Too bad I have to worry about sticks right now...

one advantage of CoL is courthouses, and more espionage. When I hit end turn, I got sticks research... which is Civil Service. He can't have machinery yet, so I don't have to worry about maces, but still.. worrisome. He gets it in 5 turns and he does have forges.

I keep saying my target is catwalk and I think that it is... but sticks is pretty strong and I may need to take him down before he gets ridiculous... but then, I may need to talk down catwalk before he starts bulbing everything...

Sticks and bricks have shown up with their first HA and are saving money for CS.

catwalk is sending a big stack of spears and axes at Be. (3 spears, 2 axes) - I don't think he liked that I razed his city

Got Construction and am building catapults.

He's going to try to rebuild that city on my border - guess he's a sucker for punishment. I roaded the gem and put 3 axes and 3 war chariots on defense. May have to pull 'em back if sticks get frisky, but I'll survive that. That's not where the pain will land for him, anyway - my target is palitipurta, with 2 cats, 3 axes and 3 war chariots in 3 or 4 turns.

So, what's happening in the warrior state?

Up north, around Be, Catwalk has decided that, dammit, he's going to replant that city and no stack of war chariots is going to get in his way!!



That's 4 axes and 4 spears. And an archer. I have 3 axes and 3 war chariots in the area. Fortunately, I will also have a couple of catapults, so I can kill it if I want. But, right now, it's a great distraction for the city I REALLY want:



That has Shwedegon Paya in it, which would be nice - Org Rel would be good - make some missionaries to spread culture. Question to lurkers: If I switch to Org Rel and then lose the city, do I get to stay in Org Rel? (since I don't have monotheism)

So, the plan:

Turn 84 (next turn): Stack A, along with the cat building in Muscle, move to point A. The WC in Muscle moves back, out of site of his peaks.
Stack B, without the war chariots but with the catapult building in Lava, move to point B.

Muscle and Lava use overflow to 1 turn something, probably archers or axes or WC - have to figure that out.

The hope is that Catwalk thinks I'm heading for Pelvis. There's no way to hide that I have a force that can hit his city, not with the peaks which can see over hills, so my hope is that he discounts it as a big threat. We'll see how it works. My guess is that he whips some archers.

Turn 85: 2 workers road C and Stacks A and B, plus the 6 WC in the area dump on tile D. What the northern group does is highly dependent on how he responds.

Turn 86: Take Patilapurta!! Alternately, go down in flames.

that chariot should be dead - that impi can kill it. If the impi doesn't, though, it will survive, as I'll be pulling my WC back for the attack.

btw - that settler? Going to 1N of the wheat, catching horse, iron and gems. And I think that's spices there.

sticks killed KJN's chariot. I moved a war chariot nearer KJN's units - he know has xbows. Fortunately, war chariots do ok vs. them, at least on a cost basis. And cats hurt everything

catwalk is moving tons of units down to his rebuilt city. He really wants those gems, I think

I'm basically toast if someone makes a major push to my south or west - my defenses there are weaker than what catwalk has here. But I have high power and no one can see what I'm doing.

Note that catwalk put up walls in Pataliputra. I don't think it's a great idea - it's 10% extra defense, but I'm not going to bombard and lose time. He'd have been better off with another axe or an archer, i think.

Up North:



Nothing interesting - that stack has 2 cats in it, too, so I may attack two catwalk cities next turn, since I don't actually care about Be all that much.

I maybe should have waited for another catapult.



I didn't save a copy of the save, so I can't do an analysis - my gut tells me I got a little unlucky (I think I lost 2 or 3 decent odds attacks and only won 1 low-odds attacks), but I've been lucky before and it wasn't ridiculous.

As you can see, I have 3 axes, a spear, an archer, 5 war chariots and a cat still there, plus a GG to get extra XP on them and double promos for those that are hurt (and a lot of them are pretty beat up)

It falls next turn, unless he has a huge force somewhere I don't see. I expect the spear to promote and an archer to be created out of thin air.

In other news, I founded the town of Article, over by KJN. This may be a bad idea... we will see.
