Yeah, forget changing religions unless you want to avoid striking at some point and need permanent civic changes to do it. The few cities with temple builds are for hammers where we have virtually no commerce. A better build would probably be commerce multipliers anyway in anticipation of eventually getting out of war civics and back into Rep/Caste. I don't think retep wins inside of 40 turns though, and we get the benefit of the AP hammers for quite a while still. I don't remember if we have to have Judaism as our state religion to keep getting the hammers but I'm not super concerned about it either way. If you have a strong preference, log in and change them to whatever.

AP hammers will be granted to anyone who builds the buildings unless they've defied a resolution recently. Besides, you can just check the tooltip.

Not sure though.

That's a good idea, although still not as nice as the option to eliminate the offending religion completely. I guess it's not much more offensive than killing a bunch of slaves with a whip, anyway.

And we're still waiting on Suttree to play since we're kind of at war right now. Just the two of us left to play now. I wonder if he's waiting for us to play so he can log in and declare war?
He doesn't know we're at war yet because he hasn't logged in since we declared last turn.

My guess is that there aren't enough Jews outside of England for us to override Retep's vote anyway. That's good about peace with Suttree I guess. Still, if we have no way to get after Retep we may as well just act like he isn't there once the north is done with. He still shows no signs of crossing the ditch to try us on land. Maybe he'll come back later with bombers or something. Well crap, airships are annoying and not that far away. Still, that would probably take more effort than is necessary. And who cares anyway.

Fun. I'm loving that GG medic LB with march. Ok, intervention time. I'm a RB B- (grinder, unimaginative, hunting, fishing) player at best, but this just got me. Can we please team Kuro up with some good, patient people next game? He really needs to get some stuff figured out. I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, so Kuro, if you read this after the game, please know that it comes from a place of good intentions. I know that I don't have full information, but I can't think of a time that I would ever use the LB for the GG medic. And, march only works on the unit that it is applied to, not the GG's ability to heal the stack. The LB wants to sit and defend and build up fortification bonus, not run around the map looking for guys to heal. Stick the GG on a scout and reap the rewards into the afterlife. ![]() Ok, sorry. Back to our shell of a game... Kuro still has a small stack in our border city. I guess he's worried about backstab, round 2... Why not? I don't have anything better to do with my troops except train/waste them for the next few turns-- Can't get directly at retep, we have enough muskets defending that he won't boat us, his power rating has flattened out, indicating that a massive D-Day invasion is not going to happen, and we have 10t enforced peace with suttree at least, with a very good chance of him just rapidly ending turn for the rest of the game. So, I think I can do something with my surplus of troops. Given that no good can come of this, here's the Hail Mary: I help WilliamLP in his attack, hopefully at very little expense. He kills Kuro and sees retep sitting there and my former cities are there and so decides to press the attack. Now we have two strong nations at war with each other. I don't think I'll ever get those cities back, and really don't care that much, but I'm trying to keep things interesting and weaken retep however I can. We still have a lot of land and just need time to get things going to improve our position. This costs us only units, potentially, and supply maintenance, which is the bigger concern given we're still losing money at 0%. But we're not broke yet, and I'm determined to make this game fun somehow. Yes, it is cheaper to make them sit at home by far, but what fun is that? If I'm just playing the turns out of a sense of duty or obligation, I'd just as well wash the dishes. Supporting evidence. Best reason not to send an expedition to Switzerland. I settled the GG this turn rather than keep it for flexibility, given the absence of an immediate threat in the homeland. We were going to do this anyway, unless suttree roared to life and did some clobbering. The driving reason behind this decision was so I wouldn't continue paying unit maintenance on the GG. ![]() I requested stone off someone, maybe WLP. This is the best location we have left for this, except for I Burn (the sheep island). If/when we get the stone, I'll rebuild Moai. Many questionable builds, to be sure. I should really just build wealth everywhere until we can swap to OR sometime. Which would be never because we'll need 3 GP to start another golden age, and that ain't happenin, captain. Clearly Byzantium is a win button.
Best reason to make Kuro die is that we won't be last in GNP, until he's actually gone. Hmm. better think about this. 7/7 is still worse than 7/8, right?
That screenshot says 8/8 to me.
