[SPOILER] Joao of Inca: Time for WAR - scooter's thread

I can see them now, was probably just slow servers yesterday.

Since you've halted growth anyway a mine would probably be better than a farm.
I have to run.

Yeah that's my feeling too. Ah well, we'll see how it works out. I finished my settler and finished my first chop:

So first settler out on T25 (normal speed), and overflow will go into a worker which will take just 3 turns which isn't too shabby on Quick. I'm going to have to revolt into slavery first though, so push back the ETA by a turn, but then again I could always whip and speed it up. I'll think about it.

Krill pointed out to me just how ridiculous this sentence is. Whoops lol.

The speed is Normal. I'm not sure how the "Quick" got in there at the end.

Accidentally alt+F4'd this window rather than something else I had open... One the one time I typed out my report in Chrome rather than Notepad. Whoops. Let's try this again.

Turn came in, progress on my 2nd worker:

So where to settle my next city? I have a dilemma. See, the nearest two foods are cows and pigs, but... I don't want to research AH for awhile:

I'd like to go Wheel-Pottery-AH... But AH is a ways away, as it'll take another dozen turns just to get Pottery. So what do I do? I need to find a spot that isn't reliant on AH foods, which is almost impossible. But here's my stab at it:

Positives:

1) Let's me share 3 good tiles between the capital (Wheat, farmed FP, and mined grass hill), letting me avoid being reliant on an AH source.
2) Has 3 forests to chop in its initial 9 tiles (adds 3 more after border pop but that won't be for awhile).
3) Let's me keep Pottery as priority over Animal Husbandry
4) On a river

Negatives:

1) I guess it's slightly cramped? But I don't see that as a big problem honestly, so I can't think of any other serious drawbacks other than a 4/0/1 tile as your best tile isn't great for a second city, but the pigs will be stronger when I eventually get it.

So this is the way to go. Top cities:

Someone's still at size 3, everyone else at 2. Looks like I may be first to 3 cities, because I'll found that second city next turn. Demos:

Looks like I'm the only one to farm that floodplains.

T27 is in (gotta love 2/day), and I revolted to Slavery (should've done it last turn - that was a mistake) and settled my new city, which is (ridiculously) named Baboon Brawl:

I am the first person to 2 cities:

This also changes the demos a bit:

(the following pictures were taken at EoT)

About what you'd expect. Here's the inside of my capital:

That Quecha has just 1 hammer left on it, so I'll finish it soon. My new city:

After the mine finishes on the grass hill, I'll chop the worker to completion.

Well this morning was an uneventful turn, so here's a look at a grassland wheat which you don't see too often:

I'm liking all the greenness that I'm seeing. Cottages cottages cottages.

T29 is in, and a few things are happening in the next turn or so:

Worker about to finish. I'm thinking he'll chop the worker at BB, and then the worker mining the hill will go mine another hill (N-NW) at AA.

5 turns have passed, and it's about time for an update. Chopped the settler nearly to completion in the capital:

I handed off that other grass mine to BB, which is using it to build a worker (slightly quicker than the farmed floodplains). Demos:

No one is at 3 cities yet, which is nice. Someone is still at 1 which is, wow, not good. I'm guessing that's Nakor who settled on the plains (I think? Memory is not great), and that's definitely going to hurt him. Demos are about what you'd expect given I don't have a size 3 city yet.

2 turns played already this morning. My settler is en route:

Started another worker in AA, started chopping it as well. Here's the east:

Looks nice. Definitely can get a nice city in here. Next city will be here probably:

That will be City #4. Gold will fund a lot more cities, plus it's plains hill and floodplains. Good stuff.
