Dazed and Ceil are overpowered wth current picks IMO. Kyan you sure you aren't gunning to lose?
Not that traits and civs matter once the diplo machine starts rolling.

Thankfully it's Always War, so none of us can be charmed by Kyan's silver-tongued diplo

Lewwyn- i don't want there to be any excuses for me this time. I don't want to win because of diplo, i don't want to win because of my leader choice or civ selection. If i win, which is going to be a massive challenge with the fantastic calibre of players here, then i want it to be because i played the best. I deliberately chose powerful combinations (pretty much the most powerful i could think of whilst keeping 1 of each trait) then gave myself something random, weak and underplayed with the civ. Napoleon is poor but at least he doesn't have protective. I am happy with getting a stronger selection, of course i am. I'll leave it in the lurkers hands, but i wont cry if you give me something weak. This is Realms Beyond after all?
Also- for anyone interested (except the other players! ). Give me 30minutes then check my thread. I am aiming to offer something a little different to the RB norm. Maybe you'd want to be involved.

Map is pretty far and I've leader list under critisism currently. Could you sum up all the settings you would like me to use when firing up the game. What are you banning if anything? Starting units - normal or something else?

Our setup:
Quote:No barbs
No huts
No Spies
No Nukes
No SoZ
No WE
No Vassal States
Our diplo victory ban isn't a game-enforced one, AP should be allowed. Normal units etc I think, although I know Kyan said GE and friends begin with a worker, which I'd be okay with spotting him.

I'm happy with anything as long as it's interesting. Give me something i haven't seen before but isn't totally impossible to overcome and i'll be happy. Once you've decided, it would be cool if you could let us know so i can begin plotting . Oh and the other basics like ensuring people get the right starting units (especially inca if they're in the game), right starting techs, randomise start locations and nothing too ridiculously imbalanced. Yeah, im teaching you to suck eggs. I know your maps are great but it makes me feel better to say it
Whilst we're here, should we sort out a play order?
I'm GMT and prefer to play 6pm - midnight. 8pm to midnight is actually my preference but i can often squeeze in a turn at 6. Only downside for my schedule is that if a turn is late to me, it will often get stuck for nearly 24 hours. I can play during that 6 hour window and only during that 6 hour window, except for weekends. This is my issue with pitbosses and split timers etc. This sounds rather foreboding but i can assure you that all of my previous PBEM's have been particularly speedy.

I have no issues with this, but leave it to mapmaker discretion. If you've balanced things in other ways, then whatever. It was just an idea. I can start with Ramesses also. That's another idea. Not all of my ideas are very good :neenernee
(viewer be advised that i am a sarcastic bastard. Cheers)

Ah, my window is pretty wide thanks to being able to nip out to play a turn at work lunchtime, but generally I'm GMT 0-6, or ~11-13.
