Turn 76 Update:
Last turn, Hinduism spread to the Pirate city of Havana. We also got enough EPs finally to see their research. They're working on Masonry.
This turn, TP & PP both grew in size and the borders of AF grew (which really helps us with keeping our units in our borders and added visibility).
Next turn TP should be able to whip out it's Granary.
I decided that it was best to have Brown Mouse make another Cottage next to Animal Farm (instead of going to complete the road to PP) because that city will be growing in a turn or two, and will need an improved tile to work.
White Mouse down at PP has finished his pasture and he can take on the task of finishing the road to connect it to our nation.
I'm still a little leary on that tech path, but I'll go along with it since I haven't come up with any great reasons to go any other direction first. So the current plan after Writing is to go Monotheism, then Monarchy, then Mathematics, and then maybe Construction. Though we may want to grab Archery as we near the end of our NAP's, if we think there's a chance of war with someone.
Flipper (heading down the coast) sees the borders of a Gillette city which has snagged the Stone down there, which I kind of expected they would do once they saw it. So I have a feeling they are probably going for the Pyramids. I know I would do that if I were them. I'm going to tell plako about this, so that I can plant additional seeds in their mind about the need to attack Gillette once their NAP ends at T115.
I forget the exact number (will check next time I log in), but we have less than 5 turns until our Great Prophet is created (yay!) so we'll be able to send him up to make the Shrine. And since we already have Hinduism spread to one foreign nation, it'll be nice to get the additional commerce from that.
Also means we'll REALLY need to beef up security in that city, as it'll make the Pirates really want to take it from us now.

We might have to do it security-wise, though, I'm not sure. Where exactly were you thinking of settling?
As for where to settle, I'm thinking maybe the spot 2W of the Cow. It's on a hill (so better protection), gets us the Cow and when/if we push back their borders also gets us the Wheat. Even though it's near their borders that side of the mountains was already agreed that all the resources belong to us (at least that was the planned agreement originally).
Planting a city there, also allows for another city to be planted 3W of it on the tile 1N of the Horses. That would be the final city in a straight line in our south. A city there gets us the Horses, it can work the Fish (if needed), and gets us another coastal city.
That even also allows for another city 1SE-1S of the Horses for one that butts right up against Gillette's Stone city, and still on our side of the mountain range. That would be the most aggressive city, as it would only be 3 tiles north of their city and both cities would be fighting for the same workable tiles.
I'll log in again later today to take an new screenshot of that area and try to draw out a dot-map of what I think the cities could look like.

Hmm, I'm not sure. That spot is safer (than settling next to the Wheat), being on a hill and farther from their borders (so less likely to provoke them), but we'd need to make sure we can win the cultural battle for the Wheat or the city's not worthwhile. As for the Horse city, I think it should go on the hill 1W of where you said so it has that second Fish all to itself.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but we should be able to pretty easily take the Wheat with our culture. The tile would be 1SE-1S of our city (and hence be in the fat cross) whereas it is 2NW of their city (outside of their fat cross, and on the other side of a Peak). So I think that helps us get control easier. I hope.
And yeah, when I was quickly glancing at the screenshot I totally missed the Fish off in the ocean. So we would definitely want that Horse city on the hill so that it can reach the Fish.

Well, it depends on their cultural strength. If they build wonders in that city, we might have a problem. By default, it should be ours though.

So the threat of Gillette completing the Pyramids (or other such Stone wonder) super quickly is not as much as I originally thought. They're still 8 turns away from hooking up their Stone.
I still think they are still probably already building it and just waiting for their Stone to make it finish faster. That's what I would do with them if I were this close to hooking up stone.
I'm thinking maybe we should go for the other wonder that we just opened up with Polytheism (the name is slipping my mind). It's the wonder that gives us +100% trade routes. We should be able to build it in either Animal Farm or SeaWorld pretty quickly.
We could even do the Great Wall....it'd only be a mere 8 turns for us to complete in Animal Farm at the current time.
Everything else is pretty much nothing big to report. We'll have the settler in 3 turns (unless we whip it sooner, but not sure it's worth dropping the city down so low just to get it out a turn or two quicker) and then we should be able to found the city 2-3 turns after that. The road will be complete by the time the settler comes out.
We'll also have the road to PigPen completed in a few turns too.
I'll give some screenshots of the area when it's our turn to play again.
EDIT: Oh, unless you think we should get it quicker along the shore to the Trolls without any delays, I'm thinking it might be worthwhile to send the galley around that island we see to the SW. What do you think? Explore around the island (assuming it's small enough) or head straight along the shore to as quickly as possible get those trade routes opened up?

Temple of Artemis would certainly be a synergistic build in SeaWorld (I wouldn't build it in Animal Farm). How many turns would it take? I think I'd rather just go open up our trade routes. Knowing what's on that island won't particularly help us for a long time, in which time I'm sure we'll be able to send another unit to scout them out.
Thanks for the update!

I logged in to check to see if Lewwyn had played their turn or not (since civstats is down) and while I was in, I noticed that the Pirates have settled their 4th city and also that they have converted to Hinduism. So they are the first ones to adopt a religion (our religion that spread to them).
As for the Temple of Artemis in SeaWorld, we won't have a clear idea of how long it will take until the city starts growing again and can work those hills. Though I suppose I we could just do the math based on how many hammers it could theoretically produce. I'll look at the numbers again when I log in next. It would take about 20 turns in Animal Farm.
I was also just thinking....we're going to want to make a decision regarding religion ourselves at some point. If we get Judaism in 3 (or maybe 4) turns, my guess is that it'll be founded in SeaWorld. I'm thinking while our Settler is moving to the city spot is when we should revolt. Always best to revolt when you have a settler en route to founding a city. We could do both in a row, depending on timing. Revolt to Organized Religion and then immediately revolt to whichever religion we pick.
If we get Judaism in SW, we could build our shrine there, which would put it far enough away from Pirates (and lessen the risk of them trying to take it from us). It just makes it more risky later in the game since it would be a coastal flatlands city that is easier to capture than the hill city of Talking Parrot. Also if we plant the shrine in TP (ie. converting to Hindusim), we'll immediately get commerce from the cities of the Pirates with the religion spreading through their lands.
The other benefit of converting to Judaism (if it gets founded in SW) is that we immediately get the Organized Religion bonus for building things, which would speed up wonders that we want to build in SeaWorld.
Just wanted to get this discussion started, since we'll need to make the decision within the next 4-5 turns or so. It does all still depend on whether we are first and get Judaism in addition to our Hinduism.

Yeah, note how the Pirates are researching Monotheism too. I actually suspect it would be founded in PP if we get it since religions seem to prefer newer cities. Revolting while the Settler is en-route would be a good idea. I think the ToA should be built in SeaWorld to gain the benefit from all the maritime trade routes.

Oh right duh, I'm stupid. Completely forgot about the fact that ToA only gives it's benefit to the city it is built in. So yes, we would definitely want to build it in SW.
And luckily it looks like we'll at least beat Pirates to Monotheism, so it's only the other cities we have to contend with if any of them are going for it to try to get their first religion. I doubt Gillette is going for it, since they already got their religion. So that leaves TEAM & Trolls. Hopefully we are closer.
