Sorry ruff frown

Because ...?

It did have reports of viruses on my site, including a block by google. I also noticed that someone had hacked my site and uploaded versions of my html with virus code included. However, I have cleaned all of that out now, changed my ftp passwords and haven't had an issue since then. I also went through the 'my site is now clean' process with google and they gave it a thumbs up.

I got hit by it once, I don't plan on trying again.

PBEM45v - Banana Man - Turn 74: 1040BC

I open the save get another OBs request (plead?) from Stupendous. This is the guy with 3 cities and the Great Lighthouse - no, no, 1000x no.

Unless you want to throw some gold my way.

My gold / gems trade offer to Pindo was accepted. Totally neutral at the moment but my second source of gems should be coming on line within 10 turns. Oh - and two people have currency (Scooter and Pindo).

One of my exploring workboats found a Rego galley (that is dangerous!) but I think I should be ok as the galley is much more likely to be involved in resettling that Scooter killed city. The squared galley was visible when I started my turn, but not after I had moved my WB away - but I could see into Sipe.

My other workboat is returning to my home land and defogging (together with a galley) some nice islands that should be shared between myself and Stupendous. I am pretty confident that I will be grabbing them as he seems to be stuck on 3 cities.

Founded my 5th city last turn (Salvatex Suit) and my 6th city this turn (Potassium-40) - see my updated land pic below. These foundings bumped me back to #1 in land area.

I should have some scooter screenshots to share in a few more turns.

Here are my cities ...

PBEM45v - Banana Man - Turn 77: 950BC

Two new units, warrior and worker ...

Rego is also back to 6 cities with the (re)founding of Graham and Stupendous has (re)founded Mom (4 cities).

The settler for my 7th city was whipped last turn ... I was going to found the city as shown below but that would increase my expenses and my gold for the currency run is currently not even covering my expenses (a handful of gold short). As such, I don't want to found another city just yet (but more on that next turn).

As promised, some Scooter map info ... not much yet, but I have a scout in his lands and I should be revealing his cities pretty quickly. BTW - screenshot is with Ctrl-B on.

Interesting... How far are you from Currency and how much would the new city delay it? It's hard to see that being more than a turn or two. The new city will have a 2c overseas trade route, 1 from the city center, could work a coast tile for 2 more (or more realistically the 2-1-1 copper), so should make up a fair proportion of its own cost.

That said, maybe the city can wait a moment if you don't have worker labor ready to go, a city at size 1 working an unimproved tile is pretty stagnant. It could share that corn although that robs it from another city.

T-Hawk - that is all true, but the commerce will go to research while the expenses will eat my gold (assuming I stay at 100% research).

Here is what I am planning ... and I think this city takes precedence over the mainland city because of the 'competitive' nature of it.

  • T77: Galley moves to position '1', settler moves under the chariot (there is also a warrior of mine there) while the workboat moves as indicated.
  • T78: Galley moves to '2', settler and warrior board galley, galley heads back to '3', workboat moves to its '2'
  • T79: Galley moves to '3', settler and warrior offload onto plains hill, workboat moves to '3'
  • T80: City founded, defended by warrior, workboat enters city, moves to fish and nets fish - city starts working netted fish straight off

BTW - that workboat is the workboat that I completed back on T43. It only took 37 turns to find its seafood resource.

Re currency - I will have to decrease my tech slider as I don't have enough gold to do another turn at 100%. I want to see if I can do a turn at 50% and still get currency. That might involve some tile swapping. Or I just do a turn at 90% and eat the wasted commerce.

posted a few more turns on my website - up to T80. I think I am only 2 turns behind now.

What is the EP formula for revealing graphs and tech?

Edit: Just spent 30 mins searching CFC and RB and I cannot find it. Costs of active missions - sure ... passive missions - NO. Help!

Edit: Found it - I should have just searched RB for all T-Hawk posts that mentioned espionage.

Research visibility requires 75 + 0.75 * opponent's EP against you.
City visibility requires 125 + 1.25 * opponent's EP against you * all espionage multipliers for that enemy city (distance, religion, trade route, etc.)
City investigation requires 200 + 2 * opponent's EP * espionage multipliers for that city.

I don't think that this is 100% right.

Me v Scooter = 53 / 47. The game says I need 42EPs to see Scooters' Graphs.
Above formula says I need 30 + 0.3 * 47 or 44 (rounded down).

Me v Pindo = 53 / 46. The game says I need 41EPs to see Pindo's Graphs.
Above formula says I need 30 + 0.3 * 46 or 43 (rounded down).

I think the espionage percentage needs to come into play. My EP %age for both Scooter and Pindo is 97% (I spend 24EPs in a turn about 25 turns ago). After some formula experiments, I ended up with ...

For scooter ... the formula becomes rounded down(rounded down[(30 + 0.3 * 47)] * 0.97) or 42 (rounded down).

For Pindo ... the formula becomes rounded down(rounded down[(30 + 0.3 * 46)] * 0.97) or 41 (rounded down).

Ahh - that is better.

I think you're right, so I stand corrected. Those EP formulas sure aren't described very well in the game at all.
