Correct is (P + G'P + G'C * 10) / C + 10 G'C is the number of cities without a granary G'P is the population of those granary-less cities That's gonna be a bigger pain to compute than i hoped. What i need is a quick and close approximation...
I might be around on chat tonight if you want to talk about the turn.

Turn 81
Well, stats and numbers are nice but there's a turn to be played. And this one has us settling yet another city: our 3rd plant in 4 turns. ![]() ![]() And that was really about it. We started another settler in NHL - yep, full REX for us - and if we're lucky we'll be able to claim the island south of Civ One with that settler. If Rego takes that spot first then we'll settle north of Civ One and solidify our hold there. We also whipped a worker in SBT, our 7th. I think the only reason we've gotten away with so few workers is that we whip so damn much. In fact, don't expect to see much growth over the next few turns. Or rather, expect to see it all turned into hammers. And lastly, here's a picture of R U Ok in one of the rare non-granary uses of the 'Avoid Growth' button: ![]() We have just enough food gain to put us at 28 / 28 in the box and grow. But if we do so then we grow into unhappiness. Monarchy is still 2 turns away, so what we will do is hold off growth. Next turn we will be at 28/28 food and then add 5 more, growing at turn's end to be at size 5 and 19/30 food in the box and grow to unhappiness. And on that turn we revolt to Hereditary Rule. This actually saves us 2 food in the long run: if we had grown at end of this turn then we would be at size 5 and unhappy witih 14/30 food in the box. Next turn we would only gain +3 food because we still have to feed that unhappy sot, and we'd only be at 17/30 food in 2 turns instead of 19/30. Avoid Growth wins again.
Looking ahead at missionaries... i don't think we want to whip SBT more than once for missionaries. Doing it twice gets the city too low and the benefit -- getting crabs at Civ One hooked up 2 turns earlier -- doesn't seem worth the cost.
Edit: Doubly so because we want to whip a lighthouse right before borders pop at SBT. If we spend two whips on missionaries we won't be at a decent size to work the resource tiles as well as the lake tile. Also- becoming more of the opinion that RSS should whip a worker instead of a settler at size 4. Not sure about this at all
Pfft way to play the turn! Anything interesting?

Nah, nothing much this turn.
Well, Rego, Ruff, and Scooter all settled cities. That means Ruff is now at 8 cities alongside us. Scooter & Ruff have 7. Ruff has caught us in food! He's shot up something like 20 points in the last 2 turns, and has taken over #1. I am quite impressed. In fact, we lost our #1 in several demographics this turn... I revised Scooter's tech last turn to be indeed Masonry (because we'd be able to GNP scry it if he had done Meditation like I first thought). This turn I think he got Hunting. Well, it could be more religious techs with units. Scooter's GNP has gone crazy since he got an academy - let's find a picture of that. ![]() Here's a picture of our plan to settle city #9. Doesn't look like Rego put his new city there, so I think the island is ours for the taking. We'll have a vulture and eventually a spear to defend it. ![]() My favorite part about last turn was building a settler and growing the same city in the same turn. Who knows the answer to that riddle? Hint: And this turn... really only one thing happened:
Okay. I think we should send the galley around the south shore when we're dropping off the settler though, we'll defog a few tiles before dropping off the units that way. More informed decision. And it's not really dangerous since rego doesn't have triremes.
Also, couldn't scooter have teched Polytheism?

Yeah, honestly I realized that after making the image but was too lazy to redo it ![]() Quote:Also, couldn't scooter have teched Polytheism? Very possible. The last two techs of his could have been 2 of Hunting, Masonry, Polytheism, or Priesthood. |
