Fine with still playing, just we'll need to start scheming soon. Not much has happened. Still gunning for Military Science, Tasunke managed to take back a couple of cities from TEAM, we somehow have the top GNP, or one of the top.
More people have been to Berlin than I have.

I went ahead and played our turn. It took 2 minutes lol just 2 workers and 1 catapult that needed orders. I poked around through the advisers and if I get a chance I'll do a tech comparison with our rivals.

Wow... we're one of only two teams with Education (with Trolls) and the only team with Gunpowder. Though Trolls picked up Printing Press so they might be heading to Rifling to fix that...

Maybe we should hit Nationalism instead of Military Science? Run the draft to help get better 'production.' Still lose to Tasunke's Knights, but Pikes can fix that on open fields.

Also, we need to respond to Q's proposed takeover of TEAM. I'm fine with that. I'm working with Q already in PB9, so maybe that'll help diplomatically wink

Another item: do we keep saving up cash to wait for Oxford to complete or do we burn it now for faster Grenadiers? I say save up, we aren't ready for whipping out Grenadiers now (since we're still waiting on Oxford) and we should probably save money for Nationalism.

Of course the 'stop procrastinating' side of me is telling me to just start whipping now...

Right. Didn't think about that. TEAM is currently looking like the softest target. All TEAM's efforts appear to be directed towards Trolls, with just single vultures defending his cities.

As for cash/tech, I'd say cash and wait for Oxford.

Democracy would be nice for Universal Suffrage (in our heavy cottage economy), but it's a long way off. Nationalism is on the way there though. Grenadiers and Cannon would make us a spikey target for longer, and maybe allow us to steal some land.

Ok, I took this turn as well and looked through the cities. Oxford completed end of turn by hiring an engineer. We have 900g in the bank running a deficit of 140 ... so enough for about 6.5 turns. We pull 790 beakers per turn. Factoring in 20% prereq bonus we have enough gold to burn through about 5600 actual beakers in the next half dozen turns. Military Science is 3-turns.

We'll probably be running research for a few turns now, so I queued up a Market in San Juan rather than another pike. A market is worth 12 gpt right now and it will complete just as we're getting ready to start saving gold again. I put Havana building a 7-turn Aqueduct since we have -2f fromm unhealthy with several more good tiles to grow onto ... I also have Havana the deer rather than Maracaibo (Maracaibo doesn't have any more tiles to grow onto).
