I've started playing the turn.
The Pirates have a big stack of rfiles, catapults, and grenadiers in San Juan. Let's hope they aren't planning on joining the foreign legion, too.
The trade mission gave us 1700 gold.
If you know what I mean.

Eastern theatre. Mostly I followed Plako's advice, but with an added dollop of caution, blowing some cash on upgrades. I also did two drafts here, so we could mount a counter-threat in the form of one loaded galleon. Unless they have more ships in the fog (possible), they can't hit our stack of four frigates / one galleon with more than four ships. So they'll have to counter the threat of that galleon, which carries two rifles and a crossbowman. And they have to defend Rapier if they want to use it as an airship base.
Assuming they reinforce Rapier this turn, we can reposition and be ready to hit it with 6 cavalry on the turn after next. If we stock Single Malt with rifles and 5-move galleons, we should be able to keep some pressure on Rapier, even if we lack naval superiority.
If you know what I mean.

Took a one more look at the situation and made a one more Cav whip from Red Bull, just in case there is something coming NE from there.
This is getting exciting. Can they gather enough to handle our SOD.
Ended turn.

We had a galleon moving into Red Bull from that direction, so I think it's clear. Whipping was probably fine anyway, though.
Also exciting to see if all our cities are intact next turn.
If you know what I mean.

I logged in to look around, and accepted some more gold from Q.
Here is our invading stack (split across two tiles currently):
On those two tiles, we have 34 cannons, 34 riflemen, and 41 cavalry. (Also 2 chariots, 1 settler, 1 GG, and 4 fast workers.)
And here are our ships, that I suggest sending into their backlines to stretch them thinner:
We have 10 frigates there, with most of them able to take combat II.
If you know what I mean.

I didn't have time to take proper look, but good turn for Gillette. We lost 2 island cities and they didn't suffer any casualties.
