Whoops, sorry.

I only have a Settler to start with (no Scout), and I've got two 5x5 portions on the other side of the map revealed - probably other players' starts?

Whosit, you may do that if you like. Somewhere out there Mortius must be looking to be lifted from the record books for the earliest recorded pitboss exit. Settler wanderlust + barbs on may be just what he needs. smile

Everyone else, the game has been reloaded, try your start again, check settings, existence of viable scouting unit, etc. thumbsup
